We thought you would like to see a some special creations we will have for sale on Saturday at our fundraising stall in Plean Country Park

These lovely glass items have been donated to us by my_glowing_glass and consist of hearts, robins and wee plaques you can attach to tealight holders.

And if you are taking part in Plean parkrun we can put these to the side for you to collect after parkrun so they don’t get broken.

We need a wee hand for this Saturday's fundraising stall in Plean Country Park

Can you spare a few hours (8am-11am) to help set- up and be part of the team running the stall.

We will be selling hot drinks, cakes, plants and of course our tombola. We usually have one person covering each area.

Or if you are a whizz at whipping up a cake or a brilliant at bakes or fabulous at flapjacks (you get our drift ;-) we would love to hear from you as we would welcome donations of homebaking.

If you can help in any way please email [email protected]

This week is Volunteer Week and we want to take a bit of time to shine a light on everyone who has helped get us to this stage.

A lot of hard work has been going on behind the scenes to turn us from an idea to a charity and we have a good foundation to move forward on.

We have been running our fundraising cake and cuppa stall for nearly a year. In that time we have had people volunteer to help us run the stall, bake (a special thanks to our bakers who donate to our stall - your generosity is deeply appreciated), donate and sort prizes for our tombola and raffle and grow plants for selling.

We also can't forget everyone involved in our fundraising concert in April not those who have come by our stall and bought a cake, drink and plant or taken part in the tombola or raffle.

Without all of you we wouldn't be here - so thank you!

And some stats for you - we have had 10 events with 22 people helping over that time (both in terms of baking and running the stalls) - with 62 separate volunteer occasions.

So if you would like to get involved and become one of our volunteers please email [email protected]

We don't ask that people help all the time - but if we can spread the load it really does help.

If you are interested in being part of the team researching the stories of the house and stables, the surrounding area and its people - email [email protected] with “History Team” in the subject heading.

You will be made most welcome.

Thank you to everyone who came to our inaugural fundraising concert at the Rural Hall in Doune. We had a busy afternoon as it was a sell-out.

The Doune Bassoon Quartet had everyone in the palm of their hands and played music from films including Star Wars, Austin Powers and Indiana Jones.

They told entertaining stories and explained a bit about bassoons and the contrabasoon. It was really entertaining and we can’t thank Peter, Cath, Heather and Graeme enough. It was a fabulous afternoon - thank you! (And good luck Cath for the London Marathon next weekend! You’ve got this!)

So thank you to everyone who came, bought a raffle ticket and baked! Our trustees (Elaine McWhirter Elaine Macdonald Bell Alan Marshall Stuart Hammond Helen Hammond and Jackie Stewart) worked hard to make the event go smoothly.

Keep an eye out for our next event and see you all soon!
