Struan Trust Struan Hall Trust
Objectives and Activities
The Struan Hall Trust was established in 1979 following the sale of the Struan Hall for development. January 2016

The Trust is constituted with 3-4 Trustees and a committee of 11 members drawn from within the community. Building on the original purposes as drafted in the Deed of Trust, the Trust’s current objective is:
to use its human and financial resources to engage with, support and help sustain the community in Struan, Calvine and Glen Errochty. The Trust recognises that present day issues for rural comm

unities centre around
• Isolation - both for individuals and for the community as a whole
• Communication - both face to face and digital
• Knowledge - awareness of what is going on and what opportunities exist locally
The activities undertaken by the Trust seek to respond to these issues. They currently include:
• an annual Christmas gathering for people over sixty years old
• a children’s Christmas party
• a fireworks party on 5th November
• fund raising activities including a 200 club lottery, quiz nights and other events
• an annual competitive bursary open to young people between the ages of 12 and 19 to assist them in achieving a project of their choosing
The Trust aims to keep an up to date record of the individuals resident in the community and to ensure that they are kept in contact. It encourages links to neighbouring communities holding regular social meetings. It seeks to encourage communication from the community to the Trust with the intention that its activities remain relevant to the community it seeks to serve. The Trust is a charity registered with OSCR.

Good morning - please see our recent update

The Struan Trust has closed.
The Struan Hall building was sold in 1979 and the monies placed in a Trust called The Struan Hall Trust.
In 2017 the name was changed to todays title Struan Trust and a new Constitution was created to meet modern needs.
Over the years the Struan Trust has used the monies to meet its objective of providing support to all ages particularly in the field of Education, Pensioner and Children’s parties/events
Many popular events were also held each year to continue our fundraising such as quiz nights in the Blair Atholl Village hall, 5th November firework night, a bursary scheme for school children
Several other Trusts who approved of Struan Trust objectives contributed funds over the years to help support our objectives within our area.
After 45 Years the Struan Trust (Charity SCO47336) came to the sad conclusion to close as the Trust as it has outlived it's purpose.
This was passed at the recent EGM and will cease to continue with effect from 18th September 2024
All funds have been disbursed to other organisations and charities who had connections within the Struan Trust area.
Kynachan Hall, Scottish Schools Camp (Assisted Places), Pitlochry Community First Responders, BAASCC (Defibrillators battery replacements), Blair Atholl Village Hall.
The children in the Struan Trust area were supported educationally.
The Trustees would like to thank all those who supported the Trust in many ways both with money and their time.
In closing as Chairman I would like to thank the Office Bearers and Trustees both current and former without whom the Struan Trust
could never have made the achievements it enjoyed along with a reputation for fun and good value.

Ian Mackinlay
Chairman Struan Trust

UPDATE: SATURDAY 21ST OCTOBER: TONIGHT'S SHOW WILL GO AHEAD
Posted 11.05am

Our operations team met on site this morning with relevant stakeholders to assess the conditions and have agreed that the conditions on site in Pitlochry are currently safe to operate the show tonight.

While we are relieved that we can re-open the show this evening, we are still aware of the extension of some Yellow, Amber and Red Weather Warnings for other parts of the country today. We understand that the conditions where you are may be different and that you may still have genuine concerns about travelling.

🔴 RED WEATHER WARNING AREAS:

For those visitors who have made the decision not to travel to Pitlochry due to a Red Weather Warning in their area, refunds should be covered by the Ticketplan insurance policy if you selected it at the time of purchase.

However before you claim a refund we will offer the option to transfer your tickets to another available date between 24th October and 5th November or to an alternative date in 2024.

SEE Tickets will be in touch with you shortly with instructions on how to transfer.

If you are unable to transfer, we are asking that you claim a refund via the Ticketplan insurance policy if you selected it at the time of purchase. You can start your claim here: https://bit.ly/3LP6U97

🟡 🟠 YELLOW & AMBER WEATHER WARNING AREAS:

For those visitors who have made the decision not to travel to Pitlochry due to a Yellow or Amber Weather Warning, this will NOT be covered by the Ticketplan insurance policy.

We will therefore offer you the option to transfer your tickets to another available date between 24th October and 5th November or to an alternative date in 2024.

SEE Tickets will be in touch with you shortly with instructions on how to transfer.

We will be keeping a close eye on conditions and, in the event of significant changes, we will issue further updates as required.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again tonight but please, only travel if it is safe to do so.

SEE Tickets will be contacting all customers affected within the next 24 hours to enable them an option to transfer to attend the event on an alternative date, subject to availability, to move their booking to 2024, or to obtain a full refund.

If you were due to attend tonight, please be patient and check your inboxes tomorrow.

Please note, we are as yet unable to confirm if any future dates are cancelled. Please check our website on the morning you are due to attend for updates relating to that day.

TONIGHT'S SHOW IS CANCELLED

UPDATE 1200hrs Sunday 8th October

Tonight's show will not go ahead.

Taking into consideration a number of factors including the weather situation in and around Pitlochry, the number of transport incidents, personnel requirements to operate the event safely, and the current conditions on site, it has been deemed no longer safe to proceed.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this decision but we are sure you will understand that the safety of our staff and visitors is of the utmost importance.

All visitors booked to attend tonight will receive communication direct from SEE Tickets on Monday 9th October to enable you to exchange your tickets to an available remaining date or, if no dates are suitable, request a refund.
