Let's be straightforward about what we're asking for — and why. The Pitlochry and Moulin Men's Shed needs £6,000 to cover our rent and utility costs for the next few months. Not new equipment. Not a renovation. Just the basics that keep the lights on and the doors open. Without these costs covered, we can't operate. And without the Shed, many of our members lose a connection that genuinely makes a difference to their lives. This is a simple, honest ask from a community group that does real good.

There's something deeply satisfying about making something with your hands.
At the Pitlochry and Moulin Men's Shed, members work on all sorts — woodwork, repairs, upcycling, community projects and more. Skills are shared freely between members. If you know something, you teach it. If you don't, someone will show you. It doesn't matter if you've never picked up a tool in your life or if you've been a craftsman for decades. The Shed has a place for you.

At the Pitlochry and Moulin Men's Shed, there's no pressure to talk about your feelings — though plenty of good conversations happen naturally.

There's just a warm welcome, something useful to do, and a group of blokes who are genuinely pleased to see you. Men's Sheds across the UK and beyond have been shown to significantly improve the mental health and well-being of their members. Isolation decreases. Confidence grows. Friendships form.

You might be wondering — what actually goes on at a Men's Shed? Here's the honest answer: a lot of tea. A fair bit of sawdust. And some of the best conversations you'll have all week.

The Pitlochry and Moulin Men's Shed is a community space where local men come together to share skills, work on projects, and simply enjoy each other's company. It's informal, friendly, and open to all — whatever your background or skill level.

Research shows that Men's Sheds have a hugely positive effect on mental health and wellbeing. But our members will tell you the same thing in simpler terms: it gets them out of the house, and it makes them feel part of something.

Our Men’s Shed is currently transitioning from rented accommodation to a permanent home. During this period, we need support to help cover the ongoing running costs of our current premises at 2 Burnside Road.

We along with three other community groups (namely Sprout) are working closely with the local council on a Community Asset Transfer that would provide a long-term base for all of us. The Feasibility Stage is almost complete.

The Men’s Shed plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of people across the town and surrounding areas, offering a welcoming space where men — and women — can maintain and improve their mental and physical health, build friendships, share skills, and reduce social isolation.
