Just a reminder that today is the last day to share your views on the proposed transfer of the Pitlochry Town Hall building to the local charity currently running the venue.

There is still time to tell us your views on the proposed transfer of the Pitlochry Town Hall building to a local charity.

The registered charity ‘Pitlochry Town Hall’ has occupied the building, a Common Good property, since 2025 under a management agreement with Perth and Kinross Council.

It has now submitted a Community Asset Transfer Request seeking ownership of Pitlochry Town Hall, to secure and support the building’s long-term use.

The charity was set-up to support the local community by providing recreational facilities and the advancement of education, arts, heritage, culture, science, and wider community development.

The transfer request aligns with the provisions of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, which enables bodies to acquire land and buildings from public sector organisations for community benefit.

The consultation is open until 12 August 2026.

There will be future consultation on the wider management of the Pitlochry Common Good following this consultation on the transfer of the Town Hall.

What a wonderful weekend of celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of Tomcroy Terrace and the 50th anniversary of James Court this year!

After a lovely lunch at James Court on Friday, we were blown away by how many of you came along to the coffee morning at Pitlochry Town Hall to mark the 100th anniversary of Tomcroy Terrace on Saturday!

Huge thanks to the residents of James Court and to Pitlochry and Moulin Heritage Centre for compiling the information and photo boards, running the tombola and sharing some of the household artefacts from 100 years ago.

Thanks also to all the helpers at the coffee morning - Ann, Lindsay, Chris, Liz, Muriel, Joyce, Wenda, Helen, Scott, Alan and Judith – Zena for donating the teddy, Liz for making the cake, Taste Perthshire for the traybakes, Jackie at the Red Deer Pub & Restaurant for lending us the cake stands, and everyone who donated homebaking, flowers for the tables and tombola prizes.

And congratulations to our lucky competition winners!

There was a real buzz at both events with people chatting, reminiscing and making new connections, which was so lovely to see.

The coffee morning raised £730 which will be split between the James Court residents’ comfort fund and PCAT with donations to the Pitlochry and Moulin Heritage Centre and Children's Hospices Across Scotland.

Pop in and have a look at the displays, enjoy some delicious home baking and teas and coffees served by our fabulous ladies, and share your memories of life in Tomcroy Terrace, Leslie Place and the wider community over the last hundred years or so.

What a lovely afternoon celebrating 50 years of James Court!

It was great to hear so many stories and memories - and see so many members of the community who have been involved with James Court in one way or another over the last five decades!

As well as tea and coffee 🫖☕ we’ll be able to share memories and reminisce about life in Tomcroy Terrace, Leslie Place and the wider community over the last hundred years or so.

There’s just a few days left to apply to become a Trustee for PCAT and help make a positive difference in the Pitlochry area!

The deadline for applications is this Friday, July 31st.

We’re especially looking for people with backgrounds in board leadership, grant funding and finance, events, and community development – particularly housing.

Most importantly though, we need your enthusiasm and your commitment to supporting our community to be a wonderful place to live, work and visit!

We're delighted to share that a new Music Technology course is to be offered at Pitlochry High School from next year, thanks to support from PCAT and a donation from The Heartland Festival .

This exciting development has been made possible thanks to a donation of £2000 to Pitlochry High School from PCAT and the organisers of the Heartland music festival in recognition of PCAT’s support of and contribution to the volunteer effort at the popular event last year.

The donation has also facilitated the purchase of some new musical instruments and equipment for the school.

Being a Trustee is an extremely rewarding experience - you’ll help guide the direction of PCAT and ensure we continue to work together with our community to achieve the goals set out in the Pitlochry Community Action Plan.

Whether you’re an experienced leader or thinking about taking on a meaningful volunteer role for your community for the first time, we need your voice and skills!

Huge thanks to The Enchanted Forest for supporting our work in the again this year 🙌🙌

We were delighted to secure £7000 towards the work to improve and enhance the skate park at the Recreation Ground, creating a facility that will be accessible to all wheels, all ages and all abilities! 👩‍🦽👨‍🦽🛹🛼🚴‍♀️🚴

And congratulations to everyone who was successful in securing some of the £134,044 funding announced recently, especially those projects and organisations that are working so hard to help achieve the aspirations set out in the Pitlochry community action plan.

The Enchanted Forest is a wonderful event that creates happy memories for families from the local area, the rest of the country and beyond every year. It also contributes to making a positive difference in our community by supporting local groups and organisations, employing local people and bringing visitors to the area, and it is great to see the Enchanted Forest Community Fund giving so much back to the local community once again – THANK YOU!!
