Awesome trip to Dorset and the New Forest…

🥾 Hiking across the New Forest
🏊 Coasteering along the Jurassic Coast
🧗 Rock climbing at Dancing Ledge
⛴️ Trip across to Brownsea Island where Scouting started

Huge thanks to the adult helpers who came with us.
Big shout out to Land & Wave Ltd for organising the coasteering and climbing. As always they made sure the Scouts were safe and had a good time while giving them a chance to step (or swim) out of their comfort zone.
Massive appreciation to National Trust for making the trip to Brownsea Island so easy to organise.

A big thank you to Gerard from WaterAid UK for an inspiring talk with our Scouts last night.

We learned about the vital work that WaterAid do providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene across the world — and just how life-changing that is for so many communities.

The Scouts then took part in an activity exploring the value of the water systems we depend on every day (and how easily we forget how important they are!).

A brilliant evening of learning and perspective.

Tonight at Cubs we celebrated Children and Young People’s Mental Health Awareness Week 💛
We had some really good chats about mental health, what helps and what doesn’t, and finished with some mindfulness activities.

A great opportunity for any musician in our scout troop for the older scouts!

We have reopened applications to fill a limited number of positions for this summer’s course

In the orchestra, applications are currently being accepted on Viola, Double Bass and Trumpet. There are no open positions in the concert band

These spaces will be filled on a first come first served basis to anyone meeting the basic requirement of grade 5 ability and a member of Scouts or Girlguiding aged 12-25
