On this special day for Scouting, we'd like to say a huge thank you to every one of our amazing volunteers at 4th Headstone Scout Group.
To our dedicated adult volunteers who make our weekly meetings so much fun, organise exciting nights away, create unforgettable adventures and provide so many fantastic opportunities for our young people – thank you. Your time, enthusiasm and commitment make all the difference.
A special thank you also goes to our hardworking Trustees, whose invaluable work behind the scenes often goes unnoticed but keeps the Group running smoothly.
And to our President and Vice President, thank you for your continued encouragement, support and commitment to 4th Headstone.
Scouting simply wouldn't happen without the kindness, dedication and generosity of volunteers. Thank you for everything you do to help our young people learn new skills, make lifelong friends, challenge themselves and have amazing adventures.

It's our birthday, Scouts! 🎉 🥳 ✨

119 years since the very first experimental Scout camp pitched up on Brownsea Island, Dorset.

We’re so proud of everything our volunteers have done since then to give young people a place to belong. Thank you to you all! 🙌

Cubs tornadoes!

What a fantastic way to finish the Cubs term!
This week we held our Bring an Adult Evening, with Cubs joined by parents, aunties, uncles and other family members for an evening of fun and discovery.
Together they completed their Scientist Activity Badge, taking part in a range of exciting experiments, including:
🧪 Making ice cream
🧤 Creating reusable hand warmers
🌪️ Making tornadoes in a bottle
🌱 Growing cress heads
🏗️ Building towers using spaghetti and marshmallows
🪙 Cleaning 2p coins
🥬 Exploring how celery absorbs coloured water
It was wonderful to see everyone working together, learning new skills and having lots of fun along the way.
A huge thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support the evening, and a special thank you to our additional volunteers who helped run the activity bases and supported the Cubs in completing their Scientist Activity Badge. Your help was greatly appreciated and helped make the evening such a success.
Have a fantastic summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term!

A huge thank you to the Harrow and Pinner Lions for visiting our Cubs this week to talk about the fantastic work they do to support our local community through the Harrow Food Hub, as well as sharing information about their Young People Volunteering Scheme.
Thank you also to our wonderful Cubs and their families for your incredible generosity. Thanks to your donations, the Lions left with four crates of food to help support local people and families in need.
Our Cubs were a real credit to 4th Headstone. They listened brilliantly, asked some thoughtful and interesting questions, and were fully engaged throughout the evening.
Thank you once again to everyone who made this such a worthwhile and inspiring evening. Together, we've made a real difference to our local community

25 of the Beavers and Cubs had a brilliant time at our annual one night camp. Well done to all of them for shopping for, preparing and cooking their dinner, pitching and striking tents and generally be amazing!

Fantastic sleepover at Butser Ancient Farm. The Scouts enjoyed some brilliant activities to learn about and connect us with the past - music making, chalk carving, wall building and tales. The highlight was definitely sleeping in the Iron Age huts.

A huge thank you to the Harrow Beekeepers' Association Apiary for spending the evening with our Cubs and teaching them all about bees, why they are so important to our environment, and the vital role played by other pollinators too.
The Cubs were full of enthusiasm, asked some fantastic questions, and impressed everyone with their knowledge.
The highlight for many was making their own beeswax candles, which they did brilliantly!
Thank you again to the Harrow Beekeepers for such an interesting and engaging evening.

Awesome trip to Dorset and the New Forest…

🏊 Coasteering along the Jurassic Coast
🧗 Rock climbing at Dancing Ledge
⛴️ Trip across to Brownsea Island where Scouting started

Huge thanks to the adult helpers who came with us.
Big shout out to Land & Wave Ltd for organising the coasteering and climbing. As always they made sure the Scouts were safe and had a good time while giving them a chance to step (or swim) out of their comfort zone.
Massive appreciation to National Trust for making the trip to Brownsea Island so easy to organise.
