🌱 Community Growing Project 🌱

What is the project about?
This project aims to help a small number of local residents and families grow their own vegetables, with support from the project organiser. Any surplus produce could also help other residents at a time when food prices are rising and money is tight.

Not everyone has a garden or can manage a full allotment. By sharing a space — and the work (planting, weeding, watering, picking) — growing food becomes more accessible and achievable.

We’re now looking for new sites across the Vale of Pewsey
✅ From approx. 15 ft square up to half an acre
✅ Vehicle access preferred
✅ Access to water is essential

If you have land that could be suitable, or know someone who might, please get in touch.

Interested in volunteering?
We’re also looking for volunteers who’d like to take part. Similar schemes usually involve around 3–8 volunteers at a time, sharing the workload and learning together.

This project is funded by Wiltshire Council and coordinated by Pewsey Community Area Partnership, for the benefit of local residents who wish to be involved.

💬 Interested? Have land available? Want to volunteer?
👉 Please DM message me directly.

Thank you

From GWR
We are writing to inform you of planned engineering work that will affect train services in the Westbury/Taunton area over the Easter period and on the two following Sundays.

Track renewals and signalling work will impact train services from 1800 on Good Friday. Follow-up track work will also affect services in the area on the following two Sundays.

To support customers during these works, replacement road transport is planned between:

Westbury and Frome or Castle Cary
Taunton and Castle Cary
Swindon and Pewsey

In addition, trains between London Paddington and Plymouth or Penzance will operate via an alternative route between Reading and Taunton, with some services making an additional stop at Swindon.

Trains will also continue to operate between Reading and Bedwyn; however, no trains will call at Pewsey during this period.

Friday 3 to Sunday 5 April

From 1800 on Good Friday, GWR trains will operate:

Between Weymouth and Castle Cary
Between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury

Sunday 12 April (until 1500)

GWR trains will operate:

Between Weymouth and Castle Cary until 1000
Then between Weymouth and Frome until 1500
Trains will also operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury, with through services to Weymouth resuming after 1500.

Sunday 19 April

GWR trains will operate all day:

Between Weymouth and Frome
Between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury

For more information you can visit gwr.com/upgrade and we would also be grateful for any support you could provide in cascading this information.

We appreciate that these changes may cause inconvenience and are grateful for your understanding while this essential work is carried out to maintain and improve the railway.
