PeCAN is pleased to offer you the opportunity to visit a local ‘Open Home’ to speak to the homeowner directly about the energy saving improvements they have made. You can look at the technology, ask residents about the installation process, and find out how much they are really saving on their energy bills as a result.

We are delighted that some of our Energy Champions have agreed to open their homes, to showcase what they have done to make their homes more warm and comfortable, while saving energy and cutting their carbon emissions.

Join us at Petersfield Eco Cafe each Tuesday from 11am-midday in the Perry Room at Winton House, if you can 🌎

Chat with other like-minded and friendly people about all things climate related, find out what PeCAN are doing, and meet representatives of other local climate action groups. A great place to find out what's going on locally, and share your ideas and concerns.

You can buy hot drinks and cake from the cafe in Winton House, or use our supplies for a small donation to PeCAN. Access is either through the main building and out the back door to the building behind, or through the side gate. We hope to see you there! 💚

If you can't join us during the working day you might be interested in coming along to our monthly PeCAN at the Pub / Volunteers Evenings instead. These are on the last Wednesday of the month, from 7pm at The Folly - the next is a relaxed social in the bar on Wednesday 28th October.

Don't forget that you can make the most of free face-to-face energy advice when you book a Friday session at Petersfield Library. We have opportunities available THIS Friday 16th October!

When you book an appointment at the PeCAN office on the first (mezzanine) floor of Petersfield Library you will also be offered FREE energy saving measures - including LED light bulbs, radiator panels, shower heads, draught proofing for doors and chimneys, and countdown timer sockets. Maximum 5 items per household.

Are you thinking about solar panels but you're not sure where to start? Seen an advert for heat pumps but still have questions? We are here to help. Being energy efficient isn’t just about saving money - it’s about making your home more comfortable and ready for the future.

Sessions are:

PLACES FOR LIFE: A BIOREGIONAL DISCOVERY DAY (and a half)

How can communities respond to the complexities of the polycrisis? Respond with hope and imagination? React with fear and uncertainty? Or come together in a bioregional collective to co-creatively and collaboratively find pathways forward that create regenerative landscapes and seascapes?

The Bioregional Discovery Day is the second event in Really Regenerative's autumn Places For Life series and invites you into some of those under-the-radar and emergent projects that are popping up like mushrooms in between the large private estates such as Cowdray, Goodwood, West Dean and Leconfield and the market villages and towns that are dotted across the South Downs.

This day is an exploration of The Green part of our bioregion - the Rother Valley and the market towns adjacent to the north escarpment of the South Downs.

They need your help with: track clearing, weeding, dead hedging, log moving, tea making and fire watching. No experience needed. Strimming and chainsaw work greatly appreciated from those with experience.
