Hi Dan, it's been awhile since I have written to you. A lot of events have happened. Millie married Bill. She moved in with us aged 16 I think, ready to do her 'A' levels then went on to university at Brighton.
She went on to graduate and also met Bill, all during covid etc.
I met a lot of her mums side of the family and the rest of Bills family. Cheri and Jonny were invited but had no one to mind the children because it was adults only. A lot of emotions felt from everyone.
Why am I writing this today. Well I have been to see Cheri today. Hope is 6 and we were playing Barbies in her bedroom and I put on some music so Barbie could have a disco. I put on Blondie then and introduced her to some older artists. Hope asked for the lion King. The circle of life sang by Elton John.
It's a beautiful song and we watched some clips from the recording complete with a a real lion cub. He looks so young Elton!
We then invited Barbie to the story time at the library apparently Barbie now has a daughter and grandchildren. I read the book 'Giraffes can't dance.'
After that Hope said you have a daughter and Grandad has a daughter too. I said yes, she then said Mum had a brother too and were they in my tummy together. She is so sweet. I explained it was a few years in-between. I asked if she wanted to see some pictures of Mummy and Uncle Dan. We looked at some photographs with Cheri and Dan together growing up, at Cheri's wedding day and when Rosie her big sister was born. It was lovely seeing these and chatting about them. However, it made me emotional. Hope said lets look at some different pictures. She realised I was a little upset. I told her it was okay to cry at times when you miss some-one you loved.
So there we are, you are always around in memory. I will always have these feelings about you. I am okay if I get upset because it's absolutely beautiful when someone asks about you. Especially children because they are so honest and have no inhibitions when they ask questions. So, today I wanted to tell you that even though Hope never met you, you are in her thoughts too. To me that is a testament to the wonderful young man you were.
All my love from Mum ######xx
