Little Miracles is a parent led support group for families with children that have additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions. We run a purpose built centre at The Spinney, Hartwell Way, Ravensthorpe, Peterborough with daily support, play and advice sessions it would be great to see you there! The centre was built by DIY SOS and the community as part of the Children in Need millio

🌈 Every mile is helping create little miracles. 💜

This year, Damien and Lisa are taking on an incredible series of running challenges to raise money for Little Miracles, including the Manchester Marathon, London Marathon and a 100km ultra marathon. That’s a lot of miles, a lot of training and no doubt a few tired legs along the way! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

But behind every mile is a reason.

They’re fundraising to help us continue supporting families of children and young people with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions, providing the support, activities, advice and safe spaces that families can rely on when they need us most. 💜

Damien and Lisa have already raised an incredible £2,260, with Gift Aid taking that even further. And every donation, however big or small, helps them get closer to their goal and helps us be there for more families. 🌈

🎓 A huge congratulations to Jo! 🌈

We’re so proud to celebrate Jo Halliwell, who has now completed her apprenticeship with Little Miracles! 💜

It’s been lovely to see Jo learn, grow and become part of our Little Miracles team throughout her apprenticeship. We’re so pleased to have been part of her journey and to see her reach this brilliant milestone.

Today, we wrapped up our summer holiday activities at The Spinney with an amazing Animal Experience Day!

We had the most wonderful animals visit, including snakes, lizards, geckos, meerkats and more! The children (and grown-ups too!) had the opportunity to get up close, learn all about the animals, ask questions and even interact with some of them. There were plenty of smiles, excitement and a few brave faces along the way! 😍

It really was the perfect way to end the summer holidays.💚

🌈 Could you be the person a family needs on a difficult day?

We’re looking for a Family Support Volunteer to join our team and help us be there for families of children and young people with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

Sometimes, support starts with something as simple as having someone who really listens. 💜

You could offer a listening ear, practical support, help a family find the right services, or simply spend time with a parent or carer who may be feeling isolated. It’s about building trust, being non-judgemental and helping families feel that they don’t have to figure everything out on their own.

We’re particularly looking for someone who understands the SEND pathway in their local area and has experience as a parent, grandparent or carer. You’ll receive training, an induction and ongoing support from our team, so you won’t be doing it alone.

If you’re a good listener, have a little time to give regularly and would love to use your experience to make a real difference to a family, we’d love to hear from you. 🌈

🌈 Applying for DLA can feel like a lot, but you don’t have to work it all out on your own.

The DLA form is long, detailed and can be difficult to know how to answer, especially when you’re being asked to describe some of the hardest parts of your child’s day.

At Little Miracles, we understand. Our team has supported hundreds of families through the DLA process, and we’ve created a free DLA Guide to help make things feel a little clearer and more manageable. 💜

Our guide takes you through the form step-by-step, with practical advice on explaining your child’s needs, gathering evidence and preparing your application.

Sometimes, having somewhere you can go where people understand really matters. 💜

For Ibrahim and his family, Little Miracles has become a place where they feel safe, happy and part of a community. 🌈

For families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions, there can be days that are difficult and exhausting. Having somewhere to go, people to talk to and other families who understand can make those days feel a little less lonely. 💛

Ibrahim’s story is a lovely reminder of why having that community around you matters. 🌈💜
