We couldn't end without recognising our fantastic Communications Specialist Volunteer, Hannah Bensusan.

While you've seen many of Hannah's posts this week highlighting our trustees and partners, her contribution goes far beyond . Since joining Safer off the Streets Peterborough, Hannah has helped refresh our communications, provided expert advice and guidance, and worked to raise the profile of both our charity and the incredible partner organisations we work alongside.

Alongside running her own freelance communications business and raising a young family, Hannah generously gives her time, expertise and enthusiasm to support our mission. Her passion for accessible, engaging communications helps us tell our story, showcase the impact of partnership working and challenge the stigma often associated with homelessness.

Thank you Hannah, for your commitment, creativity and energy. we are incredibly grateful for everything you do to help Safer off the Streets Peterborough and our partners reach more people and make an even greater impact across Peterborough.

Kiran Kaur-Sohi joined Safer off the Streets Peterborough this year and wow, are we glad! As a trustee and Company Secretary, Kiran supports with governance, IT and systems, plus meeting and administrative support. Already improving ways of working and adding value to all of our workstreams, we're wondering what we did without her...

It's time to celebrate another trustee. Emily's work and volunteering experience spans mental health, drug & alcohol assistance, criminal justice and domestic abuse services.

Working for a partner organisation, Emily loved the collaboration, shared learning and true partnership working Safer off the Streets facilitates, and just knew she had to get involved.

Hannah Bowers is a woman of many talents, all of which she shares with Safer off the Streets Peterborough! With her regulation, compliance and safeguarding expertise, Hannah works with fellow trustees to make sure that all of our activity is aligned with the Safer off the Streets charitable purpose.

Passionate about advocacy and breaking down barriers, Hannah is motivated by supporting those experiencing homelessness to have their voice heard.

Hannah leads on our free training programme for partners, which we know from the brilliant feedback from partners, has been a huge success!

Jack Lund is one of our newest trustees and is already leading on an important piece of work to tackle stigma around . A recent graduate, Jack is already making an impact professionally and in his role as trustee for our small but mighty charity. Why did Jack choose to volunteer with Safer off the Streets? We love the star branding, what better way to depict John Coubrough who volunteers every week for not one, but three of our partners... Care Zone Peterborough, HopeintoAction Peterborough and The Salvation Army. This amazing human being certainly makes a better place.

Whether it's delivering furniture, supporting people with their debt and financial issues, or helping out at the food pantry, John loves the sense of community he experiences from volunteering.

We asked John why he volunteers and his answer was simple - why wouldn't you? John feels fortunate to be in a position where he can help others.

It's volunteer week!!

As a charity run entirely by volunteers, our trustees do lots of the heavy lifting. Joy Nwandu is a finance professional working in the social housing sector, so she not only helps to manage the Safer off the Streets Peterborough finances, but has a great understanding of the work we do.

Joy chose to volunteer with us because she believes that everyone deserves a safe, secure home and she's proud to support our mission of making Peterborough a city where homelessness is rare, brief and unrepeated.

It's Volunteer Week and we're kicking off Volunteers' Week with a HUGE thank you to our chair of trustees, Anna Lee.

Aside from being a one of the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet, Anna is super capable, organised and passionate about the community. Also volunteer Chair for Citizens Advice Peterborough , Anna is definitely not taking it easy now that she's retired!

Anna drives everything we do at Safer Off The Streets with kindness, good humour and a truly inclusive mindset. We, and some of our partners mentioned below, are SO lucky to have her. Asked why she chose this volunteer role, Anna sums it up beautifully:

"For years I walked past those experiencing street homelessness, feeling huge compassion, but not feeling confident or knowing how I should respond…so I didn't. I wanted to learn more about homelessness and to support those experiencing it using the skills built up through my career. I have learned a such a lot!"
