Following on from locating information about our Buffalo after meeting up with Jérémy Seahorse and him showing me the location of the numbers I can now confirm front righthand corner on the outside of the Buffalo or front left as you face the Buffalo you will see similar to this L 1973 C60954

L means LVT4
1973 means 1,973 Buffalos made when this one left the Food Machinery Corporation
C 60954 is the Registry number
68 we have only just found this number.

I would like to know what other Buffalos across the world 🌎 have on there's ??

We have the engine stripped from the umbilical control station and ready for lifting into engine bay. The engine cradle is installed into engine bay with new throttle rod fabricated a the original clutch control rod in place. Provided weather is good to next week the engine is planned to be placed into engine bay for the first time.

This will be the frist time since 1944 since an engine has been changed and the frist time since 1947 we will hear this craft roar into action.

Its a massive achievement for our team and we thank you the Public for the donations towards getting this LVT4 back into running condition from collecting at events to the Gofundme our Charity really appreciated your support bringing our heritage back to life.

Great News from the Engine team Chris Paddy & Tom Woodhouse

Today we completed a final run up of engine in preparation for it to be installed into Buffalo to ensure all is still ok (2years since last run) All went well with only a few small oil leaks to remedy (nuts on flanges to be tightened up)

We all thank the engine team for there work and a massive thanks to Michael Sly who purchased the engine.

This year will be a massive step closer to seeing this LVT4 back towards operating under its own power.

This will be the first time since 1947 that you will get to hear the engine onboard but also witness the tracks turning at a slow pace during 2026 we will be monitoring the steel walls of the Buffalo and shall be making notes as the year continues.

Please feel free to support our Charity as we bring you an 79th Armoured Division Buffalo back to life

Hello Daniel & co,
I met you at this year’s ‘we have ways fest’ and showed you some pictures I have of my Granddad offloading a buffalo in Belgium ( possibly) in 1944.

All I know is my grandfather ‘Steve Prance’ was from Liverpool anda driver/mechanic with RASC during most of the war and these photos are the only thing we have from him that were found after his death in 1982.
Hope they are of some interest to your project..,
All best
Rob Prance

Great to meet Rob. Myself and the team were fascinated from the British P number was closed to No47 and the images were fantastic.
thanks.
