Message of Appreciation to Cambridgeshire Constabulary

The Gambian Community in Peterborough would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Cambridgeshire Constabulary Police Officers for joining us at yesterday evening’s celebration. It was an honour to welcome Sgt Tom, PC Harriet, Lloyd, and the wider team. Your presence brought real value, and the community genuinely appreciated the respect, warmth, and professionalism you all demonstrated.

We remain deeply grateful for the strong partnership we continue to build with Cambridgeshire Constabulary. Your support — especially following the tragic incident earlier this year — has played an important role in helping our community stay united, resilient, and hopeful. The commitment shown by you and your colleagues does not go unnoticed.

Harriet and Lloyd delivered an excellent presentation, and it was encouraging to see how engaged the community was throughout. Their clarity, approachability, and professionalism made a significant impact.

We also kindly ask that you extend our appreciation to Lyndsay. We truly value your willingness to continue working alongside us, and we look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and further strengthen the relationship between the police and our community.

Thank you once again for your kindness, support, and the outstanding way you and your team conducted yourselves yesterday evening. It was a brilliant event — made even better by your presence.

A Message of Thanks

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

On behalf of the Fall Family and the Gambian community in Peterborough, we would like to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude to the Peterborough community, and to people across the UK and around the world, for the overwhelming love, compassion, and support shown to us during this profoundly painful time.

With heavy hearts, we mourn the tragic loss of our beloved son and loved one, Baye Bireme Fall. As Allah reminds us, “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.”
(Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un).

During our grief, your prayers, kind words, visits, vigils, and acts of solidarity have brought us comfort and strength. Your compassion has lifted us when our hearts were broken and reminded us that Baye’s life was valued, honoured, and loved far beyond his family and community.

We humbly thank everyone who stood with us, supported us, and kept us in their prayers. May Allah reward each and every one of you for your kindness, patience, and unity during our time of hardship.

We ask Allah (SWT), the Most Just and the Most Merciful, to grant Baye Bireme Fall Jannatul Firdaus, to forgive his shortcomings, and to grant his family and loved ones patience (sabr) and strength. May Allah accept all the prayers made on his behalf.

With sincere gratitude and prayers,
The Fall Family
The Gambian community in Peterborough

Today, 18th April, our community in Peterborough stood together—not in fear, but in unity, love, and strength.

We came out in numbers to honour the life of a young soul taken too soon. Baye-Biram Fall,a 16-year-old boy, full of dreams, full of potential, and deeply loved by his family, friends, and the wider Gambian and Senegalese community. Today’s march was a powerful reminder that his life mattered—and will never be forgotten.

As balloons were released into the sky, they carried with them our prayers, our pain, and our hopes. The heartfelt speeches shared by family, friends, and community members reminded us all of the importance of standing together, protecting our youth, and building a future where no family has to endure such a loss.

We stand in solidarity not only with his loved ones, but with every young person in our community. We must continue to guide them, support them, and remind them of their worth. Violence is not the answer. Unity, love, and community will always be stronger.

Let today not just be a moment—but a movement. A turning point where we choose peace, where we choose to look out for one another, and where we refuse to let another life be lost.

To the family: we are with you. We grieve with you. And we will continue to stand beside you.

May his soul rest in perfect peace. 🕊️

Final Audio Translation Project – Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT)

Assalamu Alaikum dear community,

We are pleased to share the success of our final session of the Audio Translation Project, delivered in partnership with Peterborough Environment City Trust and KMC. This initiative has helped make vital information accessible in our local language, strengthening inclusion and understanding.

As a gesture of appreciation, Peterborough Environment City Trust has generously donated £400 to our community. This contribution will go towards hiring a hall for our upcoming Eid celebrations, Insha’Allah.

We extend heartfelt thanks to Chairman Musa Cham and Ajie Ramou Ndow for their remarkable dedication. Chairman Musa attended a three‑hour session straight after a night shift, while Ajie Ramou rearranged her work schedule to participate—both without financial compensation. Their commitment comes purely from love for our homeland,The Gambia 🇬🇲.

Please join us in expressing gratitude for their selfless contributions. May Allah reward them abundantly and bless our community.

May Allah bless you all!
