Werrington Evening Walk
Tuesday, 11th August
Starting in Werrington Village at the Bluebell, walk to Marholm through the village, crossing Lincoln Road then via the footpath behind Dukesmead. Crossing the railway over the bridge and taking the public footpath alongside the stream to Woodcroft Road. Return to Werrington by way of Hurn Road.

March and Hereward Way
Sunday, 9th August
A long flat loop through the historic town of March and the fenland farms nearby. This route follows the old course of the River Nene in to the Cambridgeshire countryside. The final highlight is medieval St Wendredas Church with its double hammerbeam roof with hundreds of carved wooden angels.
There are no toilets enroute or cafes so suggest taking a packed lunch although there are cafes in town if you want to arrive early.
Some short parts of the route are overgrown grass so suggest trousers not shorts just in case of hidden nettles.
Plenty of places to get refreshments at the end of the walk in March town centre

Walk 2.5 miles to Fotheringhay Village Hall where there are holding an afternoon village tea (£4 for tea/coffee and cake). We will remain in Fotheringhay for approx 45 minutes and walk back along the same route back to Nassington.

We walk out south under the A14 to pick up the river along to Woodford and then cross country to Great Addington for lunch stop at the Hare & Hounds (pub may or may not be open). After lunch we pick up the old railway line route via Woodford Mill (refreshment/toilet stop) back to Islip.
