We walk out west via Calvey Wood to approach Kings Cliffe from the south (drink stop) then pick up the old railway route east before diverting off past the old Kings Cliffe airfield to arrive at the Command Post cafe (lunch stop), taking in the Glen Miller memorial, before returning south to Apethorpe.

Lyndon & Wing

The walk includes ridgeways looking out across the green fields and pretty villages and with some undulating paths. There will be a lunch stop in the countryside so please bring packed lunch and water or you can arrive early and have breakfast at the cafe or get a take away - open from 9am to 4pm. The cafe has toilets but there are no other facilities on route.

Please see below our next Sunday walk, when we visit London, all welcome 🥾🥾

London Bridges Walk
Sunday, 3rd May
From King's Cross we shall take the Victoria Line underground to Green Park Station. We'll then walk across Green Park and St James's Park to Westminster Bridge where we'll begin traversing the bridges. Lunch will either be on the South Bank outside the Tate Modern or in the small gardens of St Paul's Cathedral, depending on timings.
After lunch we'll visit St Dunstan's in the East Church Garden in a bombed-out church for tea break. We'll finish at Hays Galleria (shops and free toilets) before boarding the train from London Bridge back to King's Cross for around 4pm.
