A refusal is not always the end.

If your PIP claim was refused or you were awarded fewer points than you believe you should have received, you may be able to ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration.

This means asking DWP to look at the decision again.

But here is the problem: many people waste their reconsideration by writing an emotional complaint instead of a structured challenge.

A strong Mandatory Reconsideration should explain:

What activity was assessed
What DWP decided
Why that decision is wrong
What actually happens in daily life
How often it happens
What support, prompting, supervision or assistance is needed
What evidence supports it

This is exactly what the KJB PIP Mandatory Reconsideration Pack helps you organise.

You usually have one month from the decision date, so do not leave it until the last minute.

FREE PIP GUIDE: The 5 mistakes that get people refused

Most PIP claims are not refused because the person has no difficulties.

Many are refused because the difficulties were not explained in a way that can be properly assessed.

The most common mistakes are:

Describing the diagnosis instead of the impact
Using vague wording like “I struggle”
Forgetting the reliability rule
Sending evidence without explaining what it proves
Writing a complaint instead of a structured challenge

We have created a free PIP guide to help you spot these mistakes before you send your Mandatory Reconsideration.

And for those who need the full structure, our PIP Mandatory Reconsideration Pack is now live.

It includes templates, descriptor guidance, evidence checklists, strong vs weak examples, and step-by-step support.

REAL STORY. REAL IMPACT.

A person can have genuine difficulties and still receive a poor PIP decision.

Why?

Because the decision-maker is not living their daily life.
They only assess what is written in front of them.

We have seen cases where the problem was not the person’s condition.
The problem was the way the difficulties were explained.

They described pain, anxiety, fatigue or mobility issues — but they did not connect those difficulties to the right PIP activities.

They did not explain what happened when they tried to cook.
They did not explain why bathing was unsafe.
They did not explain why leaving the house caused overwhelming distress.
They did not explain what help they needed and how often.

Once the case was rebuilt properly, the difference was clear: the decision could be challenged with structure, evidence, and real-life examples.

That is why we launched the KJB PIP Mandatory Reconsideration Pack.

Not to give people false hope.
Not to guarantee outcomes.
But to help people stop sending weak, vague, unstructured challenges.

If your PIP decision is wrong, you need more than frustration.
You need a proper challenge.

PIP UPDATE: Do not wait until your case is refused before you understand the rules.

There has been a lot of fear and confusion around PIP changes.

The safest message is this: PIP is under review, and the current decision-making process is already strict.

DWP does not simply ask, “Do you have a condition?”
They look at whether your difficulties match the PIP activities and descriptors.

That means your wording matters.

A weak answer says:
“I struggle with cooking.”

A stronger answer explains:
“What happens when I try to cook, how often it happens, what risk there is, whether I need supervision or help, and why I cannot do it safely or reliably.”

If you have received a PIP decision and you believe it is wrong, your Mandatory Reconsideration must be structured properly.

That is why we launched the PIP Mandatory Reconsideration Pack.

It helps you challenge the decision clearly, using the right structure.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Your diagnosis explains what you have. Your reconsideration must explain what happens when you try to live with it.”

This is where many PIP claims go wrong.

PIP is not awarded just because you have a diagnosis. It is assessed on how your condition affects your daily living and mobility activities — cooking, washing, dressing, communicating, going out, moving around, managing money and more.

If your decision was refused or scored too low, repeating your diagnosis is not enough.

You need structure.
You need examples.
You need to show the functional impact.
You need to explain whether you can do activities safely, repeatedly, to an acceptable standard, and in reasonable time.

That is exactly why we launched the KJB PIP Mandatory Reconsideration Pack.

It gives you templates, guidance, descriptor support, strong vs weak answer examples, and checklists to help you prepare a clearer challenge.

SUCCESS STORY: PROSECUTION STOPPED. NO CRIMINAL RECORD. NO £1,000 FINE.

Facing a criminal record, £1,000 fine and citizenship risks - case successfully closed with no further action.

One mistake could have changed everything...

Our client, a disabled individual who regularly travelled between Peterborough and London, accidentally purchased a train ticket with the wrong travel date.

Despite explaining the situation, the matter was escalated to the Prosecutions Department. He then received a Notice of Intention to Prosecute.

The consequences were serious:

Possible criminal record
Fine of up to £1,000
Court costs and compensation
Significant stress and anxiety
Potential impact on a British Citizenship application

At the time, our client was in the middle of obtaining British Citizenship.

A prosecution could have resulted in far more than a financial penalty. It could have jeopardised an application that had already involved significant time, effort and expense. The application fee alone would not have been refunded if refused.

We stepped in immediately.

Reviewed the full case

Analysed the evidence
Prepared a detailed representation
Presented supporting documentation
Explained the circumstances properly
Challenged the decision professionally

The result?

NO FURTHER ACTION
NO PROSECUTION
NO CRIMINAL RECORD
NO COURT APPEARANCE
NO £1,000 FINE
CITIZENSHIP PLANS PROTECTED

This case is a reminder that receiving an official notice does not always mean the outcome is final.

When decisions fail to take account of the full circumstances, the right evidence and the right representation can make all the difference.

At KJB International Aid Ltd, we help people challenge decisions, present their case effectively, and protect their rights, money and future.

One letter changed everything...

Another successful outcome.

PIP refused or scored lower than expected?

One of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking PIP is only about the condition.

It is not.

The DWP looks at how your condition affects specific daily activities — whether you can do them safely, repeatedly, to an acceptable standard and within a reasonable time.

Many people lose points because they:

❌ describe the diagnosis, not the impact
❌ use vague words like “I struggle”
❌ forget to explain reliability
❌ send medical evidence without linking it to daily difficulties
❌ write a complaint instead of a structured challenge

I have created a free guide:

The 5 PIP Mistakes That Get You Refused

It explains the common errors that can weaken a PIP claim or Mandatory Reconsideration, and what to focus on instead.

ANOTHER CASE WON

This is exactly why people should never give up.

Our client’s Universal Credit claim was terminated, and many people in that situation would understandably feel defeated, overwhelmed, or ready to walk away.

But we challenged the decision.

We reviewed the case carefully, looked at the circumstances in detail, explained the issues properly, and made sure the client’s situation was clearly presented. As a result, the decision was revised in the client’s favour.

This means the original decision was not the end.

Too often, people assume that if they receive a refusal, suspension, or termination, that is it. It is not always the end of the road. Sometimes the first decision is wrong. Sometimes important circumstances were not properly considered. Sometimes people simply need the right support to fight back.

This case is a powerful reminder that:

* a refusal does not always mean the matter is over
* challenging a decision can make a real difference
* giving up too early can mean losing support you were entitled to
* the right advice and representation matter

At KJB International Aid, we continue to help clients challenge unfair decisions, present their cases properly, and keep going when the system makes them feel like stopping.

Please do not suffer in silence and do not assume there is nothing you can do.

If you have been refused, your claim has been stopped, or you feel that a decision was wrong, get advice as early as possible.

Message us if you need support.

Book an appointment on our website if you need case-specific advice.

And please share this post - someone on your friends list may need this reminder today.

Do not give up. The right challenge can change everything.

Wszystkim Mamom życzymy spokoju, zdrowia, miłości, stabilizacji i ludzi wokół, którzy naprawdę wspierają. 💙

Happy Mother’s Day to all amazing mums. 🌷
