🎤🎯✨ Today, a group of friends checked out the recently refurbished Broadway Social in Peterborough city centre, making the most of everything the venue has to offer.

The karaoke room was a huge hit, giving everyone the chance to sing their favourite songs, cheer each other on and share plenty of laughs along the way. The darts brought out some friendly competition too, with lots of encouragement, smiles and good-natured fun.

A brilliant time filled with friendship, confidence and plenty of good vibes. Safe to say there were some very enthusiastic performances, and we think we'll be back again soon! 💙

🌟 Friendship, Teamwork & Communication 🤝

Last week, our Academy learners enjoyed a range of activities that provided opportunities to connect, share ideas and work together. From building dens and designing towers to taking part in communication games and friendship-focused discussions, learners explored what friendship means to them, shared the qualities they value in a friend, and celebrated the different strengths each person brings to a team.
It was wonderful to see so much collaboration, encouragement and friendship throughout the week, with learners communicating their ideas, listening to others, working together to overcome challenges and recognising each other's unique strengths along the way. 💛

Throwback Thursday to February 2022, when a tiny baby Shelly the tortoise joined the Circles Network family! 🐢

Shelly has become a much-loved member of Circles here in Peterborough, bringing smiles, sparking curiosity, and helping young people learn about caring for animals through hands-on experiences.

Shelly has certainly come out of her shell since joining us, and we can't wait to see what adventures she'll get up to next! 💚

Did you know we run a project called Thrive?

Thrive is a welcoming group for children in Years 3-6 who live with a family member with a registered disability and may help with day-to-day caring responsibilities. The group provides opportunities to connect with others, build confidence, explore emotions and build friendships, whilst having fun in a supportive environment.

Our first block of sessions saw members enjoying a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, games and trips to the park. It has been wonderful to see children connect with others who share similar experiences, grow in confidence and have a space that is just for them.

Parent feedback:
"My son absolutely loves coming to Thrive. It gives him a safe and welcoming space where he can be himself, enjoy fun activities and express his individuality. He always looks forward to attending and really enjoys spending time with the other children. It’s lovely to see how much he enjoys his time there.”

We are currently planning our next Thrive sessions and have spaces available. If you know a child who may benefit from attending, or would like to find out more, please contact us.

Because every child deserves opportunities to connect, grow and thrive. 💙

Today our fantastic trainers were out delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism to professionals from a range of departments across CPFT.
It was great to bring together staff from different services to learn, share experiences and develop their understanding of autism, learning disability and the importance of person-centred, inclusive practice.
Circles Network is proud to be trained and authorised to deliver this important training, helping health and social care professionals build the knowledge, skills and confidence to work alongside autistic people and people with a learning disability, while creating more inclusive services and reducing barriers.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions throughout the day.

We had a lovely evening at the My Future Planning event at Lime Academy!
It was great to meet young people, families, and fellow professionals, and to be part of conversations about future goals, aspirations, and the opportunities available after school. We enjoyed sharing information about our Academy provision, connecting with local providers, and supporting young people to explore the pathways that are right for them.

🌟Community Week in Action 🌟

What a fantastic week of learning, exploration and community connection! Our learners have been developing valuable everyday skills through meaningful, real-life experiences. From identifying trusted people and places within their community to creating shopping lists and using maths skills during supermarket visits, every activity has supported confidence, choice and active participation.

We also enjoyed a sensory nature walk, taking time to explore the outdoors, connect with nature and experience the environment in different ways. It has been wonderful to see everyone engaging with new experiences, building on their strengths and growing in confidence throughout the week.

Last week was Independence Week at the Academy! 🌟

We spent the week building confidence, trying new things and having fun while practising everyday skills that help us feel more independent.

We enjoyed making our own snacks and drinks, taking part in shopping activities, playing budgeting games, following instructions, organising our personal belongings and talking about independent travel.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, making choices, having a go and celebrating their own achievements.
