Jackie over at the Community Hub has shared another update about our CATH Remembrance Garden. Both her and some of our service users have been out at every chance to keep working on it's growth. Gorgeous pink and yellow from the plants coming through over the fence and some of the other plants from our previous garden have also come through and are adapting nicely to their new home! We're also planning on working on more artwork for display.

🎓 ASDAN Qualifications are now part of CATH Futures Stage 3

We’re pleased to announce that participants taking part in Stage 3 – Futures in Action can now work towards ASDAN qualifications and recognised learning programmes as part of their time with CATH Futures.

But what does that actually mean?

ASDAN is based around practical activities and real evidence of the skills you develop. Rather than everything depending on sitting an exam, participants can build a portfolio showing what they have achieved through activities, challenges and tasks completed during the programme.

What could you gain?

Through Stage 3, participants will have opportunities to work towards ASDAN learning in areas such as employability and personal development, while continuing to build the practical skills needed for their next step.

You could develop skills including:

✅ Communication and working with others
✅ Confidence and independence
✅ Problem solving and decision making
✅ Planning and organisation
✅ Timekeeping and reliability
✅ Understanding workplace expectations
✅ Identifying your own skills and strengths
✅ CV building and preparation for applications
✅ Career research and goal setting
✅ Preparing for interviews, training and the workplace

The learning is flexible, which means activities can be matched to your starting point, goals and the direction you want to take next.

ASDAN programmes can recognise learning at different levels, so participants can build their skills at a pace that is realistic for them.

Where could it lead?

Stage 3 is designed to help participants prepare for progression into:

➡️ Volunteering – building experience, confidence and a stronger CV
➡️ Training – developing the skills needed to move into vocational or specialist training
➡️ College or further education – preparing for the expectations of further learning
➡️ Employment – developing workplace skills, job-search confidence and evidence of what you can do

Most importantly, the work you complete gives you something tangible to show for the progress you have made.

👥 Who is it for?

CATH Futures is available to people aged 16 and over.

Participants can come through CATH services, make a self-referral, or be referred by one of our partner organisations.

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Fundraising Manager to lead the implementation of our fundraising strategy to increase our income generated through fundraising initiatives and bring supporters closer to our mission.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled fundraiser and communicator who can balance strategic thinking with
hands-on delivery and who wants to help the charity grow sustainably. You will be leading and executing CATH’s fundraising strategy with a focus on regular giving, stewarding donors through engagement and support, building relationships with them on their journey with CATH and sharing news of the impact of the charity, sharing powerful stories that demonstrate the difference our supporters make – with the goal of enabling us to reach more people in need and improve our financial sustainability.

CATH Connections

We’re delighted to share that CATH has received funding through the The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland over the next two years to help people across our local community feel more connected and supported.

Through our On the Mend project, local people will be able to take part in friendly Walk n Talks, community wellbeing sessions and creative arts, crafts and upcycling activities, designed to bring people together in welcoming, supportive spaces!
