What a brilliant day at at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh this week! We had so much fun delivering our Green Roof Bee Game activity and showing how plays a vital role in land and nature careers.
We were especially impressed by how much bee fact knowledge the group already had—it was fantastic to see so much energy, curiosity and creativity in the room. 🐝🌿✨

🌿 Bridge Building: Nature Style! 🌉

Our Careers and Education Officer, Alba, had an absolute blast visiting the P7 classes at Blackhall Primary in this week! These young innovators took on our Wildlife Bridge STEM Challenge, and let’s just say... the future of engineering is looking green! 🌍✨

The Mission 🚀

The students were tasked with designing and building bridges that allow Scottish wildlife to safely cross busy roads. It’s a tricky balance of structural integrity and animal-friendly design, but these P7s nailed it.

A massive well done to everyone at Blackhall Primary. You worked hard, thought big, and built some truly inspiring structures! 👏

Want to bring this challenge to your classroom? 🎒

Our Careers Toolkit is packed with STEM challenges just like this one, designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world of land and nature careers.

We are absolutely BUZZING after attending the event in this week—and what a brilliant day it was!🐝

We delivered our session all about green roofs, bees, and how connects to the land and nature sectors.

Together we explored how green roofs can help wildlife, support biodiversity, and make our built spaces a little kinder (and a lot cooler) for the world around us. Tiny roof-meadows = big impact!🌏

Best part? The young people absolutely threw themselves into our bee activity—zipping around, “pollinating” and collecting “nectar” as they went. There was plenty of laughter, lots of brilliant questions, and some seriously impressive teamwork. And we loved seeing all the young people's bee waggle dances!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and got stuck in🙏
