⚽ McDonald’s Fun Football Wraps Up in Style 🙌

Our McDonald’s Fun Football programme came to an exciting close at the end of September with two fantastic festival events celebrating months of fun, football and new friendships. 🎉

⚽ Kinross Festival at Loch Leven Community Campus welcomed 36 young players, including 12 girls, for a brilliant day of football and fun.

⚽ St Madoes Festival, delivered in partnership with Pitfour Football Club, saw 29 young players take part, with 11 players representing the club.

A huge thank you to all the players and parents for getting involved, and to the Scottish FA and McDonald’s for funding the programme.

📍 Active Schools Team / Bertha Park High School, Perth
⏰ 22.2 hours per week (Maternity Cover, starting 7 January 2027)

In partnership with sportscotland and Perth and Kinross Council, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Active Schools team.

You’ll help provide high-quality opportunities for children and young people to take part in sport and physical activity, while creating strong leadership and volunteering pathways. A key focus is breaking down barriers and finding creative ways to engage those who would benefit most from being active.

If you have extensive experience of engaging with children and young people across education, sport or community settings, along with experience of managing volunteers, we’d be delighted to hear from you!

You should be degree-qualified (or have equivalent experience) with excellent communication skills. A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and PVG Scheme Membership are required.

🌟 Free after-school multi-sport opportunities for children across Perth & Kinross

We're making it easier for young people to get active, have fun and develop new skills with FREE multi-sport sessions for primary school children, running through to March 2027.

Led by our experienced coaches, each session includes a variety of sports and games designed to boost confidence, encourage teamwork and help children enjoy being active.

📍 Available at eight venues across Perth, Kinross, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy.

Spaces are limited, so don't miss out. If a class is currently full, join the waiting list as spaces can become available throughout the term-time programme.

It was lovely to see so many women and girls trying something new at Perth & Kinross Disability Sport’s Women and Girls Try Sport Festival 😊 Eight sports and activities were delivered on the day by brilliant female coaches from local inclusive clubs. We’re proud this was supported through our Sport for Change grant scheme, in partnership with The Gannochy Trust.

We’d love to see even more local clubs get involved in disability inclusion. If your club would like to welcome more participants, get in touch with our Sports Development team at [email protected], who can point you towards advice and support.

Kinross Active Schools is working in partnership with Muckhart Golf Club to create more opportunities for girls to get into golf, from a first try at primary school through to playing at their local club.

P6/7 girls at Kinross Primary School and Milnathort Primary School are taking part in a three-week introductory programme, trying golf in the familiar surroundings of their own school and building skills and confidence in a sport many may not have considered before.

The sessions are just the start. Everyone who takes part will be invited to a girls-only session at Muckhart Golf Club during the October holidays to experience the club and find out about further opportunities to play.

Supported by the Scottish Golf Women and Girls Coordinator Fund, the partnership will grow over the coming year to include more primary schools across the Kinross area and Kinross High School.

Ice skating at Dewars Centre cancelled: Sat 10 – Sat 17 October

Unfortunately, due to staff illness, we've had to cancel all ice skating sessions from Saturday 10 to Saturday 17 October at Dewars Centre.

This includes public skating, Snow Babes, Learn to Skate and ASN sessions.

We're really sorry for the disruption. If you have a booking during this time, we'll be in touch about a refund or moving it to a later date.

Our aim is to encourage more women and girls to get involved in sport and physical activity, celebrate participation at all levels, and help break down the barriers that can lead to lower activity rates among women and girls.
