Our trail crew were out at Perth tonight and thats the water bars reinstated on the climb to the trailhead at Smiler/Backbreaker/Armageddon.
They should now guide water away from the trail and prevent it becoming a slopfest.
Smiler also got a good 'haircut', opening up sightlines & clearing back the wee whippers.
All in all, a very productive evening

We were extremely humbled to receive a cheque in the post recently from team 'Use it or Lose It' from the Alyth Quiz League.

They wanted to thank us for all our hard work by donating their prize money from their Winter Quiz campaign to the TTA 🥹🥰

While we're saying our thank yous..... to anyone who's ever taken the time to make a donation over the past few years, it's hugely appreciated and invaluable in helping to keep your favourite trails in tip top condition.

If you've been meaning to donate but haven't yet, the link is below. Pennies make £££'s and no donation is too small.

Enjoy the trails 🤟🏽

An update from Mike from the Pitmedden Trail Crew.

"What a doozer of a winter that was for rain, slop and mud 😭. Bar 1 week of sub-zero conditions in January...... that was nigh on 3 months of non-stop rain.

Between myself, Aaron Muckmedden and the public dig days, over 400hrs of work was put into pitmedden DH + XC maintenance this winter season. The vast majority of it was drainage works. A massive 🥰THANKYOU🥰 to everyone that helped on the digdays and other random midweek fixes. It makes mine and Aaron's lives so much easier knowing we can rely on you folks to help out with the bigger jobs.

You'll have noticed all the DH exits have been fortified against future wet spells, plus various wee patch ups. No doubt they'll need tarted up once in while.

But thats me done all the work i planned to do, this winter and i think Aaron too . Time to start working the pedalling legs instead of the digging muscles ...... dunno if you've noticed ..... but conditions are absolutely mint 💫 in there the now ..... the clocks change this weekend ..... so get out there and enjoy the midweek evening rides

I just wanted to also thank you all for being superb mtb riders....... closed trails were not ridden, s**t ground conditions were not given a hiding , litter has been minimal ..... ive not even come across problem skidding or new strava lines. You folks are the best ...... these are your trails too, treat them as such coz I know ye love it 😍"

Sunday dig day up at Hallyburton.

The 5 strong team headed to Plain Naan and refreshed some of the turns and jumps, removing some rotting timber and plastic astro turf. Features were then rebuilt with stone and earth for longevity.

There is a new drop / jump at the entrance to both sections of trail. They even got some test pilots to try them out.

Again a massive thanks to the Hally/Ballo crews for keeping everything running sweet! It has been really cool to see some new & repeat diggers. Your efforts are hugely appreciated!

That brings the winter weekend digs at Hallyburton to an end. There will be some dates put out soon for midweek evening digs after the clocks change.

Keep your eyes peeled on our socials & Eventbrite if you'd like to get involved.

What a productive dig day at Hallyburton on Sunday. A group of seven tackled:

Boo Koo Boom Boom
- Installed drainage pipes through two berms that were filling with water.
- Re-aligned an awkward turn in the new lower section.
- Re-graded the final jump onto Plain Naan and made it rollable over the back side.

Tangerine Dream
- De-rutted a few turns at the start of the trail.
- Re-graded the first jump as the trail heads into the trees.

Agent Orange
- Rebuilt a rock lined section towards the end of the trail that had been washed out.

Want to get involved? The next dig day is Sunday 22nd March.

It would be great to have more folk along.

Sign up via our Eventbrite page (link in our bio).

Big thanks to the volunteers! These trails continue to run because of the work you guys put in! 👊

Sunday at Hally.

A squad of diggers put in a big shift over at Hallyburton today. They fixed up segments on various trails & improved drainage.

Thanks to the team for giving up a day on their bikes to keep the trails running smoothly.

Yay to less mud on the butt. 👏

If you fancy helping out at any of the digs in the Tayside area please sign up via our Eventbrite page. It would be great to have more hands on deck.
