Evergreen Dolls Co Unique, hand-painted recycled fashion dolls - As seen on Channel 4’s “The Secret Life Of 5 Year Olds: All Girls”

Evergreen Dolls began as a hobby after I came across a post about repainted fashion dolls on the Internet. I liked the idea of creating dolls that look like real children, and that celebrate diversity. All the dolls I use are second hand, sourced mainly from charity shops. All of the work on the dolls is done by hand - from repainting the faces, to the clothes, to casting new feet in hot glue usin

g silicone moulds I make myself. I love making each doll different, and seeing their little characters develop as I paint. I try to reuse or recycle materials wherever possible. Much of the fabric used in the dolls clothes is cut from real clothes, and all of the packaging materials are reused and completely recyclable. Anyone interested in purchasing a doll can do so on my Etsy shop here:

Another custom order ticked off the list 📝 👭
This customer requested little feet and sandals (swipe to see)... not sure I’ll make them a regular thing, but they looked quite cute with the finished outfit!

Packaging up a ready to ship tomorrow 😊
I always tend to go for bright colours for the blanket and romper suits on these basket babies, but this customer requested neutral tones and I absolutely love how it looks 😍
I’m still working away on my new dolls, and I’m SO excited to share them with you! Lots still to do... but watch this space!

NEWS...
It’s been another wonderful year for 😊👭👫🌿
I’ve had a bit of a rest over Christmas, which has allowed me some much needed time and headspace to think about the direction I want to go in 2019.
I’ve decided to make some changes to the dolls I create, and as such, I will be temporarily deactivating all my listings for a couple of months. I’ve been thinking hard about the values behind my business and the kind of toys I want to create. The aims underpinning this whole enterprise are to extend the play lifetime of second hand dolls and create unique, durable toys that celebrate diversity. I feel it’s time for me to re-evaluate, and make sure that the toys I produce meet these standards.
Over the next few weeks I will be sourcing and experimenting with different materials and techniques, all of which will require risk assessment and testing to ensure they comply with regulations. This is a time-hungry process, so I hope you understand my need to close up shop while I complete this.
Any private/custom orders that I have already agreed to undertake will of course still be completed to the agreed timescales, but I will not be creating any new listings until I have the next generation of dolls ready - hopefully by the beginning of March 2019.
In the meantime, I will be posting updates and ‘first looks’ at my processes, so do keep an eye out in the coming weeks! I have some ideas that I am very excited about, so watch this space...!

Thank you so much for your wonderful reviews, custom, and support throughout my second year in business. It really means the world.

I have a little apprentice in the workshop!
My 4 year old has watched me repaint dozens of dolls and has been desperate to have a go herself. So, we’re making one together 😊
Repainting is a fiddly business, but there are ways of involving even preschool children. My daughter helped with the hair restoration, has removed the factory face paint, and had a go at painting the whites of the eyes (though she later asked me to remove this and repaint them ‘matching’). She then mixed the colour for the irises. I was planning to repaint one to go in her Christmas stocking, but involving her in the process is making it so much more fun and special for her.
