A huge thank you to St Austell Tidy Up Team, Bodmin Tidy it Team and the PL24 Community Association Group, who have all been busy over the last couple of weeks collecting an incredible amount of litter. 💚👏

Thank you for sharing your photos with us, and for everything you continue to do to look after your local communities.
And if their photos have inspired you, why not get involved where you live?

Community litter-picking groups aren't only about keeping our towns, villages and countryside looking their best. They're a brilliant way to meet people, spend some time outdoors and do something positive together- and many of our groups finish their picks with the equally important tradition of coffee and cake! ☕🍰

You can join an existing group or even start one of your own. Clean Cornwall and our partners Cornwall Council, Cornwall Recycles and Biffa, can help you get going with free litter-picking equipment, insurance and support with arranging waste collections.

A few people, a couple of hours and a shared love for where you live can make a huge difference. 🌱♻️

This September, join the UK’s biggest beach clean.

The Great British Beach Clean takes place from 18 to 27 September, with volunteers across the country helping to remove litter and protect our coastline.

Whether you're joining an organised litter pick or helping to keep your local beach tidy, every piece of litter collected makes a difference.

🔎 Have you spotted nurdles on Cornwall’s beaches?

They might be tiny, but nurdles are a big pollution problem.

Nurdles are small plastic pellets used to make almost all of our plastic products. When they're accidentally spilled during manufacturing and transportation, they can make their way into drains, rivers and eventually our seas – washing up on beaches around the world.

From 4th September to 4th October, Scottish environmental charity Fidra is asking people across the world to take part in the Great Global Nurdle Hunt. 🌍

It’s a citizen science project that records where nurdles are being found, helping to build evidence of the scale of plastic pellet pollution and strengthen calls for action to stop it at source.

And you can help!
🏖️ Head to your local beach, estuary or riverbank
🔎 Spend some time looking for nurdles
📝 Record how many you find - even finding none is useful data!
📍 Submit your results to the Great Nurdle Hunt
