Even with the unpredictable Cornish weather, we were delighted to have welcomed nearly 50 new faces from our local community among many familiar families through our doors last Friday for Pigs in the Park with The Leach Pottery!

An astonishing 54 Piggy Banks (and 1 bear) were created, and it's been an amazing opportunity to get to know more of our wonderful community and share an amazing session full of creativity and laughter!

A huge thank you to Ellen and Neil from Leach Pottery for making this session possible and helping us to create such a welcoming and enjoyable space.

We're incredible grateful to Reaching Communities for funding which allows us to open our doors wider than ever, and reach new and wonderful people!

Join Trelya and The Leach Pottery next Friday 21st August for an exciting outdoors pottery session, making piggy banks out on the Princess May Recreation Ground.

The session is open to anyone, welcoming children, young people, families and adults. No need to book, just turn up!

The piggy banks will then be fired and returned to Trelya for collection.

Trelya are excited to be hosting Butterfly Literacy CIC for their first taster session on Monday 10th August 2026, 1-2pm. Email [email protected] to reserve your place! 📚

The session will provide a safe and inclusive environment where families can spend quality time together while supporting literacy and language development, confidence and self-esteem, emotional wellbeing, and social and communication skills.

Every child will receive a free book to take home to give families the continue the fun together at home!

Trelya has been awarded a grant of more than £192,000 from the 1001 Critical Days Foundation for a 4 year infant feeding project, Bosow, the Cornish word for "food". We are incredibly thankful to be one of only seven organisations chosen nationally!

The project will be delivered through our Community Hub, The Lescudjack Centre, supporting parents and carers from pregnancy to age two to build confidence around feeding, early nutrition, oral health, cooking, shared meals and responding to their babies’ cues.

We can't wait to get started, and to see the amazing positive change this will bring to our community!
