So, of course, it was stuck at the border. ( Brexit, the gift that keeps giving).
But Tuesday morning it arrived!! Now keeping people a tiny bit more comfortable.
The Mobile Refugee Support Team unloaded as quickly as possible as they had hung about the day before and not been able to do as much as they normally would out in the field.

Thank you Distribute Aid and Cornwall Couriers. It's been a crazy few weeks but your amazing patience and support have actually made me look forward to doing this again.

And of course, the biggest thanks to the people from all over Cornwall who collect and donate to us.
We are always happy to receive aid for MRS, interesting things to sell in our Green Market shop, or direct financial donations that cover shipping costs and funds for our education projects in Sinjar, Iraq. ( See our website for details)
You are all amazing people and truly a joy to know.

Not sure where to start so here goes. Today 37 Cornish people came together to load over 3000kg/ 3 Tons (400 tents, 400 sleeping bags and 2600 items of clothing, and general aid. Someone asked if I knew the number and ofc, due to Brexit, I had to know the units and weight of every box. )
A big thank you to EVERYONE who helped today as well as EVERYONE who has donated the aid.
A few particular nods go to the amazing Martin Venning who has held my hand thru this shipping process and also roped all of his family in to help. (I plan to adopt his nephew.)
The award for the most devoted volunteer goes to Eileen Partington who drove down from St. Tudy (Bodmin) after just returning from a week in France. And my husband James Batty who had to knock on doors to find the owner of a car that the lorry could not get around ( making breakfast in pants and a T shirt 🫣)
We also need to thank Nicola Hemsley and Tim for letting us use their home for storage, the totally amazing team at Cornwall Couriers ( that's another post on how helpful they have been), and our lovely contact at Distribute Aid who was holding my hand while on vacation.

Mobile Refugee Support it's over to you. You guys are legends. Sorry we didn't send pasties, it would have been more paperwork 😜

WE ARE SHIPPING THIS SUNDAY October 11
We have finally got all the plates spinning together and will be shipping over 3 Tons ( 3000 kg if you like) of aid to our friends at Mobile Refugee Support in Dunkirk France.
This is aid from all over Cornwall that many of you have collected or donated.
Please get in touch with me personally so I can give you time and place in Penzance details privately.
This will be the largest shipment from Cornwall since our friends at Open Hearts Open Borders last shipped to Greece before COVID.

It's been a long 2 years since One and All Aid shipped to Iraq but we are trying again as we know the teddy program brings so much joy to the children there.
For the event we have our dear friends A Hagi and Jomaa Jameel helping James (all being old pros).
If this goes smoothly The Teddy Trust can re-establish their amazing program with us.

The One and All Aid shop will be closed this Saturday ( July 11), instead join us in the Movements area at Tropical Pressure. On Saturday and Sunday we are making peace bracelets and a simple version of female Yezidi head dresses ( young and old welcome to make one).
On Saturday afternoon we will be joined by our good friends at Global Jamming and Tros an Treys for Yezidi and Cornish dancing. This was a big hit last year so we have been asked to extend the activity 😉😉😉
