We're delighted that Farm Cornwall has been chosen as the charity beneficiary of an upcoming evening with four Nuffield Farming Scholars from Cornwall and Devon!

Taking place on Thursday 26th November at Cornish Camels, Rosuick Farm, near Helston, the evening will bring together Peter Green, David Oates, Stuart Oates and Edward Fane Trefusis as they share fascinating insights and experiences from their Nuffield Scholarship travels.

It's a fantastic opportunity to hear fresh perspectives on farming, learn from their experiences and enjoy an evening with others from the agricultural community.

Tickets are just £15 per person, including a Gear Farm pasty, with all profits going to Farm Cornwall to help us continue supporting farming families across Cornwall.

You'll be joining a small, dedicated team committed to providing free, practical and confidential support to farming families across Cornwall. TThis varied role will help keep the charity running smoothly, coordinate our activities and events, and ensure we can continue supporting our farming community when they need us most.

Calling all East Cornwall farmers, sign up for our FREE Farm Resilience Programme!

We're pleased to be working with The Royal Countryside Fund to offer local farming businesses a fantastic opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of farming and focus on the future.

Starting on Wednesday 4th November at Menheniot Village Hall, the free programme includes four practical workshops led by agricultural specialists, alongside a one-to-one Business Health Check with a Farm Cornwall adviser.

The programme will explore ways to improve profitability, strengthen business resilience, plan for the future and make the most of new opportunities. It's also a great chance to meet other local farmers, share experiences and learn from one another.

Everyone involved in the farming business is welcome, and we encourage different generations and members of the farm team to take part.

Food will be provided at each workshop, and the entire programme is completely free.

Places are limited to around 20 farm businesses, so we'd encourage anyone interested to get signed up as soon as possible!

We had a fantastic day at D.G.Buscombe Dyno Day back in January, and we’re really looking forward to another brilliant event this November.

This time there’s a vintage twist, with tractors over 25 years old taking centre stage.

We're all set up at the Eden Project today for World Mental Health Day!

Abbie and Edward are here representing Farm Cornwall, joining organisations from across Cornwall to raise awareness of the mental health support available and strengthen connections between services.

At Farm Cornwall, we know how important it is that farming families have somewhere to turn when times get tough. Today is a great opportunity to share more about the practical, confidential support we provide and how we can work together to support our rural communities.

After 25 years of dedicated service, Richard Thomas has stepped down as Chair of Farm Cornwall’s Board of Trustees, with Chris Knowles taking over the role.

Richard has been involved with Farm Cornwall since its beginnings in 2001 and has played an important part in shaping the charity and supporting farming families across Cornwall. We’re very pleased that he will remain a valued member of our Board of Trustees.

Chris, a local dairy farmer who has been involved with Farm Cornwall for more than 20 years, brings a wealth of experience and a strong understanding of Cornwall’s farming community.

*A quick update on our Bluetongue breakfasts. The Wilsey Down breakfast has been rescheduled to Friday 6th November.*

If you’ve been affected by Bluetongue, come and join us for a free breakfast and the chance to catch up with other farmers who have been through similar experiences.

A local vet will be joining us to talk about the longer-term effects of Bluetongue, what the future might look like and how to plan ahead. There’ll also be plenty of time to ask questions, share experiences and chat with the Farm Cornwall team.

We’re very grateful to The Royal Countryside Fund to be one of the nine Farm Support Groups receiving funding to help farming families affected by the ongoing impacts of drought and bluetongue.

The funding will help us continue providing practical, confidential support to farms affected across Cornwall. As part of this, we will also be hosting a series of farmer breakfasts in some of the worst affected areas, bringing farmers together and providing an opportunity to talk through the challenges they are facing and access support where needed.

We’ll be announcing the dates and locations of the breakfasts over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on our page for more information.

A huge thank you to everyone at Trevedra Farm and to everyone who supported their summer raffle!

An amazing £1,100 was raised for Farm Cornwall and Sennen Cove RNLI, and we’re incredibly grateful to receive £550 towards our work supporting farmers and farming families across Cornwall.

Thank you also to David and Sharon Minshull for generously donating their beautiful handcrafted prizes.

SFI26 Window 2 closed yesterday, just hours after opening, with the £233 million budget fully allocated. We know this will have left some farmers who had been planning to apply without the funding they had expected to build into their farm business.

If this has affected you, Farm Cornwall are here to help you look at what happens next. We can work with you on your business plan and cash flow, look at the impact of losing anticipated SFI income and help you put together a practical plan for moving forward.

We also know that an unexpected change like this can bring additional stress and uncertainty, particularly when you had been relying on the funding. Our team is here to talk things through and provide practical, confidential support.
