🌿✨ Solidari-Tea! at Tregovenek Community Garden ☕️ 🍰

Calling all growers, farmers and anyone that works the land! Join us for a heartwarming Solidari-Tea on Saturday, September 26th, at 7 PM. We'll be gathering in the garden, or if the weather isn’t on our side, at Pentiddy's roundhouse.

Its been a tough summer and we want to offer some TLC to lift your spirits. Enjoy a cozy fire, hot drinks crafted by our herbalist, and scrumptious cakes made by our volunteers. There will also be gentle live music.

We encourage everyone to share their stories around the fire. Bring along an item that symbolises something successful for you this summer, and another that represents a challenge you’ve faced.

Autumn stroll through the garden in the soft breeze and everything looking so good after the recent refreshing rain. Experiencing amazing tomato abundance and just loving it 😍🍅👌

Wow, what a busy Saturday morning! The field kitchen is really starting to come together and we now have a roof, the clear panels will let in lots of natural light into the food preparation area 🍲🍴

Out in the vegetable garden the polytunnel is still producing an amazing crop of tomatoes 🍅❤️

The change of season is definitely in the air 🍂🍄 and it's time to think about succession planting. With cooler temperatures it's a perfect time for sowing the seeds for our crops that will fill the hungry gap next Spring 🌱

We return back to our Friday sessions next week from 9.30 to 12.30. Everyone is very welcome, please come and join us 🪏

It's the third week of the month so our work party this week switches to Saturday. Join us for a morning of nurturing, nature connection and harvesting abundance in the community garden 🧑‍🌾🍅🌽🫜

⚱️This week there is an option to stay on in the afternoon to find out more about our earth healing pot and learn about this beautiful creative process. Come along and join us on the next part of the journey 💜

🪏🌱 Work parties run from 9.30 to 12.30, you don't need to stay for the whole morning. Please drop by and say hello.

If you want to join us in the afternoon too please bring along a packed lunch. Everyone is very welcome to join us for all or part of the day.

We were delighted to welcome Claire and Ian from the The National Garden Scheme who visited Tregovenek this morning for a tour around the garden and to learn about the amazing work we do here.

Our new picnic benches, some additional benches around the garden circle and the purchase of materials for the construction of our field kitchen have all been made possible thanks to generous funding from the National Garden Scheme's Community Garden Grants programme. A huge thank you for helping to make this happen 🙏

A gentle morning nurturing, watering and harvesting.

So important to take time to observe so many beautiful flowers, crops and amazing wildlife that we have in this very special place👌😌

The cooler air and fresh breeze were very welcome this week. You could almost feel the garden take a sigh of relief from the heatwave 😌

Definitely a shift in the seasons in the air and harvesting crops to make room for our succession planting. The potatoes, onions and beetroot look fantastic 🥔🧅🫜 and tasted amazing in our shared lunch. We also harvested seeds from the peas for us to sow next year 🫛🌱

We are so excited to see the progress with the field kitchen, it's really starting to take shape now 🪚🔨 Our tea break discussion focused on the next steps and the internal layout of the field kitchen.

Can you help us with the next steps of the project? We are looking for:

➡️ Paving slabs, any size - we are happy to take on the challenge of mix and match!

➡️ Kitchen units and worktops

We’re looking for more customers - have a look at the map and list below (taken from an excellent E.V.Thompson book!) and if you live in those areas and are keen for Organic, locally grown produce from a small, ecological family run farm, get in touch!
