Horley Harriers visited Kingdom today as part of their Winter Tour.

This is the 3rd time they have come to Kingdom on tour, but their first in the winter. Road or trail? Tricky decision as the ground is a mix of flint and grass. Most went for trail, which was probably the right decision.

16 Harriers ran or walked and Kingdom did not disappoint! Three hilly laps on uneven ground.

They had a couple of specific milestones to celebrate. Helen ran her 50th parkrun and received of our Golden Tickets and Alan ran his 600th (!!!). Sadly not an official milestone, so no Golden Ticket for Alan - but do come back for your 1000th!

They had 5 course PBs for Jamie, Andy, Gary, Fiona and Nicky and 3 x 1st in Age from Tanya, Alan and Alice.

Helen thoroughly enjoyed using her Golden Ticket for a free breakfast bap and hot drink and everyone else enjoyed a coffee and cake in the cafe afterwards.

The team here at Kingdom were chuffed to hear that we are a firm favourite on their tour agenda and plan to be back. We look forward to seeing you again, but in the meantime enjoy the rest of your winter tour.

11 parkrun tourists joined us from Maidenhead, plus Raffa the dog, and had quite a bit to celebrate!

Kirsty Matthews celebrated her birthday in style by being the first lady to finish and 7th overall!

Chris Sutton chose Kingdom as his 100th different parkrun – amazing!

Lucas Sutton was running his 3rd ever parkrun and loved it!

Raffa the dog was doing his 34th parkrun and his 14th different venue. Woof!

Many were collecting a ‘K’ for their alphabet challenges

They all reported enjoying the course, particularly the Washing Machine, the hill and the delicious breakfast afterwards. They particularly enjoyed the free hot drinks that Kingdom Café offer if you order food and show your parkrun wristband. It’s quite a perk – literally!

Those who joined us were Kirsty Matthews, David Barnacle, Graham Matthews, Lucas Sutton, Sam Gillespie, Amanda Keen, David Sutton, Chris Sutton, Raffa Sutton(!), Louise Matthews, Amanda Sutton and Gemma Gillespie.

They love their parkrun tourism adventures and are now booked to go to Zielony Jar parkrun in Krakow, Poland, to complete their second alphabets at Easter!

We really enjoyed your company, so do come back and see us again if you get the chance.

WE PLAN TO BE OPEN TOMORROW - 10 January 2026
(but please double check for updates on the day)

Following careful consideration, Kingdom parkrun plans to be open as normal tomorrow.

However, as ever, your safety is paramount and if anything should change overnight (such as thick ice), we will of course let you know in the morning as soon as we possibly can.

Fingers crossed, we will see as many of you as possible, but take it easy out there folks - including your journey to visit us.

With best wishes from your friends at Kingdom parkrun

B15 visited Kingdom parkrun on 27.12.2025 with Roy Cooper and was handed on to Jacky Sewter, who will take it to Bognor Regis parkrun on New Year’s Day.

Attached are a few photos, including one that was snapped in front of the oldest living tree in the British Isles, called the Seven Sisters, which we are proud to have growing here at Kingdom.

With best wishes to B15 for its onward journey.

On Saturday 13 December, our Kingdom volunteers will be collecting donations for Nourish Community Foodbank, who support local people in need by delivering emergency food and supplies. If you are able to bring along an item or two from the staples list, Nourish will be extremely grateful for your kindness and support.

If you are not attending parkrun on the 13th, but are attending this Saturday, 6th December, we will be accepting donations then too.

Jack celebrated his 8th birthday at Kingdom on Saturday!

Jack has completed 133 parkruns - 2 more than his owner, inc Bromley and (get this) a VIP parkrun at Black Combe Prison - an event that most people won’t ever have the opportunity of attending! The inmates loved having him there and really made a fuss of him - https://www.parkrun.org.uk/blackcombe/

Proof that being on a short, handheld, non-extendable lead does not (and should not) hold you back. We are so proud of you Jack!
