A RED heat health alert has been issued by the UK Health Security Agency for the South East, South West, London, East of England, East Midlands and West Midlands regions. The red heat-health alert will be in place from 01:00am on Wednesday 24 June until 11:00pm on Thursday 25 June.
To stay safe in the heat:
💧 Stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day.
🏠 Keep cool indoors by closing curtains or blinds during the hottest part of the day and ventilating your home when cooler.
🧴 Protect your skin with sunscreen and appropriate clothing if outdoors.
⏰ Avoid peak heat where possible, particularly between 11am and 3pm.
🤝 Please check in on others, including older people, young children and those with underlying health conditions.
If you or someone else feels unwell due to the heat, visit 111.nhs.uk if it’s not an emergency.
