We now have a plan to address the safety issues at the skatepark in order to hopefully reopen. Danny of local fabricators, Metalcraft Cornwall has kindly offered to fabricate some new corner protectors that will hopefully meet the safety inspectors requirements. Once these have been manufactured and galvanised we will try to arrange a working party to install them and tidy the park ready for the next opportunity to get the inspector to visit with a view to reopening.

Hi everyone. An appeal for help fixing the skate park equipment.

The safety inspector has been around to check my corner protection piece and unfortunately advised that these are not suitable. They would ideally need to be embedded and have a more rounded corner profile. Possibly best if we look at getting it re-rendered. If we can get that completed to the inspector’s satisfaction, then we only need clear the vegetation again to hopefully be able to reopen. Apologies for how long this is taking.

First galvanised corner piece (kindly donated by Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd) now fitted on the skatepark. Awaiting the safety inspector to confirm whether this addresses the dangerous exposed corner beading adequately, before fitting the remainder of the angle pieces, which will hopefully allow us to re-open safely.

Now have some galvanised lengths of angle to use as corner protectors in the skatepark. Just need some help fitting them.

This Bingo event is to raise funds for staging the MCH Pantomime.

We are delighted to announce that, outside school hours, the playing field is open to the public. Please note, dogs are not permitted on the playing field at any time. The skate park remains closed while we ensure necessary safety work is completed.

The playing field is jointly owned by the School and Mabe Community Hub, managed under agreement between the two parties. .
