In answer to a question about the skatepark there is no further news but sadly a further setback. During the storm last week a large tree fell into the park, bringing down two other trees. Work will begin today (Saturday) to remove them at which point we will be able to assess what damage has been done. Sections of the fencing to the front and the rear of the skatepark has been crushed and will need replacing. We should know more after the weekend.

A week on from the devastation caused by last weeks storm the play park remains closed. This is wholly on safety grounds (but also due to insurance company guidelines) as the fencing to the Summerheath side, especially closest to the road, is unstable. We have met with two professional companies to seek advice (a third visit as per our insurers instructions is awaited) to request quotes for remedial works which equally is not a quick process as some of the timber required will be quite specialised but we are trying to proceed as fast as we can.
Meanwhile we would continue to ask, from a safety point of view, that no one (children in particular) attempts to enter the park.
