With so much controversy everywhere, I even felt like taking a break from teaching. There are so many yoga police, and people shaming others for this n that. I try my best to stay away from this social media platform, as the yogis never promoted themselves like this. And these days, we all feel so obliged to promote ourselves on Instagram.
My community in Cornwall is small, and my students come to me because I've met them in the street, or a friend has told them about my classes. I don't rely on Instagram for clients. I don't rely on yoga for business, and in an industry where we are counting students as 'sales', I'm definitely sure this is not a yogic principle. I care for my students, like their body is my own. I care about paying homage to the tradition of yoga, while I free myself up from expectations that come from external places.
I teach yoga because I am really good at teaching yoga, like it's my soul path.
Money is not the reason I practice, but more curiosity!
