Hello and happy new year from all of us at Kloth.

You won’t have heard much from us for a while as, for various personal reasons, our lovely marketing and social media volunteers have had to move on which leaves us bereft of their fantastic work and looking for some replacement. Could this be you?!

What is required?

* A knowledge and passion for marketing / social media
* The ability to create and schedule social media posts across a variety of platforms
* A commitment to our mission - to get the people of Falmouth, Penryn and the surrounding areas borrowing rather than buying.
* A few hours of your time (suggested 3 per week)

What do you get in return?

* The love and gratitude of the Kloth team and it’s borrowers
* A feeling of wellbeing and of being a part of the change that you want to see in the world
* Access to all of the wonderful things that are in the library at no cost

If you are interested drop us a line on here or at [email protected]

Hi all. Due to the high winds this evening we will not be opening.

Please drop us a line on here or at [email protected] if you were hoping to come in this evening.

⚠️ RED WEATHER WARNING FOR WIND VERY SERIOUS SITUATION ⚠️

⚠️The Met Office have issued a rare RED Weather Warning for wind from 1600 until 2300 today.
This is the highest level of warning and indicates a danger to life.⚠️

Storm Goretti will bring exceptionally dangerous storm-force winds this evening, particularly across the Isles of Scilly and parts of Cornwall.

What to expect
A rapid escalation in wind strength from 30–40 mph to violent storm conditions
Peak gusts of 80–110+ mph, possibly higher in very exposed coastal and hilltop locations
Hurricane Force 12 winds for a time
The most severe conditions are expected to last 2–3 hours, before gradually easing later in the evening

Winds will remain strong overnight, with a broader yellow warning continuing into Friday morning

Coastal danger
Very large and powerful waves
Risk of debris being thrown inland
Extreme danger near cliffs, coastal roads, sea fronts, and harbours

TRAVEL WARNING: DO NOT IGNORE. It is not safe to travel during the red warning period.
Avoid driving unless absolutely essential
High risk of fallen trees, flying debris, and sudden crosswinds
Roads, bridges, ferry routes, and other transport services may be disrupted or suspended

Protect life and property If you can do so safely and before conditions worsen, secure loose items around your home:

Bins, Garden furniture, Trampolines
Tents and sheds, Fences and any loose outdoor structures

Please take this warning seriously.
Red warnings are issued only when widespread, dangerous impacts are expected, and conditions may deteriorate very quickly with little warning.

We will continue to monitor Storm Goretti closely and provide updates as the situation evolves.

Stay indoors, stay away from the coast, and stay safe.

More updates soon
KWT Dave

🎉 Badges, badges, badges! 🎉

Today we had the absolute joy of joining at their free workshop in the .

We brought along our very own Badge Maker, which you can borrow from for just £10 a week. It comes with all the bits you need, so you can simply pick it up and get making straight away, whether that’s for a birthday party, a school project, a community workshop, or just a rainy afternoon at home. 🌧️➡️🎨➡️😁

It was so lovely seeing people try their hand at badge making today and even lovelier to spread the word that you don’t need to buy the kit, you can share it and borrow it. That’s what KLOTH is all about, making creativity, tools and fun things more accessible for everyone in our community 💙

Huge thank you to Print Pals for welcoming us into your arty day, we had the best time and it was so lovely seeing everyone’s beautiful creations!
