Skelton Toppin Memorial Hall, will start a refurbishment of the 2nd Meeting Room, (The Billiard Room), (which was a storage room these past few years for chairs/tables, books, supplies etc.) beginning 1 Oct 2026, this is expected to be completed before Christmas 2026. It is expected that there will be minimum disruption to activities and bookings in the adjoining, Reading Room, toilets, recently refurbished Main hall & Kitchen.
The work will be confined to the Billiard Room itself with occasional necessity to access the upstairs electrical room. After the initial several days of gutting the room to prepare for insulation, the work should be relatively quiet, allowing activities in the other rooms. All existing bookings will be honoured and new ones still taken. Plse contact the Secretary, me, Bob, at [email protected] or mob:07876402738 with any questions or comments. This is part of the Trustees "continuing" the refurbishment of the building, as best we can with limited funding. Friday, 5 June, STMH First Friday Pop Up Pub in the Skelton Bowls Club Bower. Come join us for a drink and a catchup with friends overlooking the beautiful, former Skelton Bowling Club Green. lots of outside benches under the covered walkway to sit outside or in the Bower, while enjoying Spot On Catering Fish n Chips etc, serving between 5:30-8:30 pm. Hesket Newmarket keg b**r, assorted bottled b**rs, wines, alcohol and soft drinks & packaged snacks on offer. Serving between 6 and last orders at 10:30 pm All volunteer, local, friendly staff. A great Community space!

2 x professional harpists today, Sunday, 17 May in Toppin Memorial Hall from 1:30 pm, suggested donation price for attendence is £5 (plse disregard the £10 as per the poster). Harps NW has hired the hall today and among othrr things they are featuring this duo. Here is a great chance to see quality harp playing locally, in Skelton village!

Wednesday, 29 April in Skelton Bowls Club Bower was the first Tai chi with new teacher (for us), Hilary Watson, who has been teaching for many years. That class was a big success and will carry on each Wednesday in STMH Main Hall staring at 12:15 for an hour, followed by Tea/coffee & biscuits. Tai chi has been a feature in Skelton Toppin Memorial Hall since Aug 2019 and we're extremely happy to have Hilary carry it forward, now on Wednesdays. Please come along to have a look if you're curious or to reacquaint yourself. It's a very welcoming group. Whether a beginner or more experienced you'll feel welcomed. Gentle exercise and coordination for people of most abilities The cost is £5 all inclusive!
