🌍 By 2050, it's estimated that the proportion of the world's population over 60 years will nearly double from 12% to 22%.

This isn’t a crisis - it’s an opportunity to build a society where wisdom, kindness, and diversity thrive. The question is: how will our society respond? 💭

What would you tell your younger self about ? 💭 Many older adults say they wish they’d focused less on the numbers and more on the moments. Maybe the real lesson is that ageing is less about age and more about perspective.

Fantastic 💛

“I was a very reluctant soldier, I didn’t want to be in the battlefield at all, I thought I would be doing admin duties because of my age, but suddenly they needed an extra five men… you just had to go and do it.”

D-Day veteran Joe Mines landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944, and was immediately set to work clearing mines – he was still a teenager at the time. 80 years later, Joe volunteers for the Royal British Legion, looks after his family, and enjoys occasional trips to the dog track and his local pub.

Joe raises around £2,000 each year for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and says: “I am very proud to collect for the Poppy Appeal every year with my daughter Sheron… and I really enjoy it.”
