We would like to say a massive thank you to Callum and the boys from Midlothian Skip Hire for helping clear round our unit in Penicuik today.
Don’t know how you do it!
Even with my fetching marigolds on and an excessive scrub , I still think I resemble a 640l bucket!
Am due you a few Coronas 🍻

Evening!
Our services are now closed until week beginning 5/1/26
If there is an emergency situation the agencies we work with will get in touch

We have had a record year of giving and receiving donations

We are a wee group of like minded people who just want to make life easier for those hit by hardship whilst stopping beautiful things going to landfill

Personally, I would like to thank all of you that have supported us this year .. volunteers , agencies , customers
We are not nameless or faceless and wear our own battles on our sleeves and 100% empathise with each and everyone’s situations whether donating or receiving,
Going forward our rent for Penicuik is £900 a month. Mayfield is approximately £50 as the church supports all we do
Every pound you give us means so much and is accounted

Sweet Dignity fills my heart with joy and although I am now being pulled into making even greater challenges.. this is my first love

We wish you the best Christmas you can provide, and the hope you have a happy New Year !

Evening!
Just been back on messenger… I can’t possibly answer everyone 🙈
So here goes
Yes we are taking donations
Penicuik 11-2 Tues Wed
Old Crystal Factory Visitor Centre
Mayfield 9-12 Friday house behind St Luke’s

Yes we will take things in good condition
No we won’t if they need mended as our customers don’t have the means to sort and neither do we … however if it’s clothes bedding etc please mark your donation recycling

Our customers don’t upcycle.. so if you are passing on furniture that’s past its best please find an alternative

Make sure we have all the fixtures and fittings too!

We are absolutely blessed to have so many supporters and are determined to make sure our community can access what they need

We have just opened another room
For transparency
Our rent will now be £900 a month
If we ask for a donation it goes 100% towards this
Mayfield are blessed with the support of the church but still have overheads
No one is paid

We have over 1000 members and work with all areas of social work , woman’s aid etc

You all make a difference and we are so glad that we can facilitate this!

In 2018 I met a phenomenal woman, who quickly became my friend and a very like minded equal 🤓
We spoke of Sweet Dignity and the impact it was having in Penicuik.
She said that it was a much needed service in Mayfield. The next conversation was..find somewhere.. if you can manage it DO It!
Well… the challenge was well and truly accepted!
SD Mayfield officially opened in Feb 2019 and is still going strong, now well routed in the community.
This is testament of the commitment Heather and the amazing band of volunteers has shown.
I am absolutely devastated that Heather is stepping away from the service but needs must. For the 1st time probably in forever she needs to put herself 1st 🥰

She will always be one of the greatest friends and that will never ever change!

You are one in a million and our door is always open for you to come back to the home you created.

After a lot of thinking and health concerns I have decided the time is now right to step away from Sweet Dignity. I have enjoyed the last 6 1/2 years. I was honoured to build up this service in Mayfield. I have helped and supported many people and have welcomed over 300 members. It is now time to hand the reigns over to Bozena and the team.

This is Sweet Dignity Mayfield branch. Are you having a clear out?Then you can donate here or go along for something new for you.

All formal and informal occasions whether it be weddings, proms, parties, interviews or funerals. Also winter jackets to keep you and your family cosy as the weather starts to change.
All volunteers are friendly, empathic and non-judgemental always happy to see you. Pop in for a visit to see what they have. Please feel free to share.

We will be in Ladywood Leisure Centre, Penicuik this Sunday!
We’ve got Halloween and lucky gift bags and our Glynis will be face painting.
Come down, grab a bacon roll and a coffee ( Ladywood Kitchen) and have a chilled Sunday morning looking for bargains!

Thank you to everyone who visited us today for school uniform.
We had 20 families and gave out almost 200 items ….

However!

It’s not even made at dent in the amount of uniform we still have available 🙈

So we are keeping everything on display and available next week.
