We are currently recruiting adult volunteers, with the increase of cadet numbers we are now in the position where we need staff members. You dont need to have any military experience to join us, just bring your life experience, a few hours of your time and I can promise you that you will find it so rewarding watching cadets gain in confidence. We will provide you with training and will have the opportunity if you wish to progress.
We parade every Mon and Thurs 7pm-9.30pm.

A special message for everyone who makes the Cadet Forces what they are. 🎖️

As we celebrate the first ever National Cadets Week, His Majesty The King has shared a message recognising the dedication of cadets, volunteers, families, employers and supporters across the UK.

A moment to celebrate everyone who helps young people build skills, character and confidence for life.

These last few days have been a busy one for both staff and cadets. On Thurs we did a first, and had cadets prepare a cold meal, they were put into 2 teams and the best presented dish, was the winner..
Then this weekend 4 cadets travelled to MOD ST ATHAN for Bronze ATP (Sat).
In attendance were:
Fs Gilbert-who attended in capacity of trainer
Fs Ramsden
Sgt Tinsley and
Cpl Davies-Evans.
All successfully completed the course to gain their bronze RAFAC wings.
Then today (Sun) cadets attended WAD-Wing Activity Day, we competed in:
First Aid, Youth Speaks, Space and Media.
We placed joint 3rd in Media
In attendance for WAD were:
Fs Ramsden
Cdt Ramsden, Cdt Best, Cpl Castle, Sgt Tinsley, Cpl Davies-Evans, Cdt Wilson, Cdt Harris, Cdt Gundy and Cdt Randall.
For many this was their first experience at WAD and they all put in 110% effort. They were extremely smart and they should be proud of themselves for taking that leap and stepping forward to give it a go.
Some new friendships have been created from today which is lovely to see.

This week has been a busy one, Monday night was interviews for FS, and am pleased to say that Sgt Gilbert was promoted to the rank of Flight Sergeant. Then straight off the bat, was AEF at MOD ST ATHAN yesterday (Wednesday), where 3 cadets took to the skies:
FS Gilbert
Cdt Ramsden and
Cdt Wilson who took to the sky for the 1st time, and absolutely loved it.
Best way to be as a cadet is to try everything. Next up is WAD this weekend.

On 15 September 1940, during the Second World War, an air battle was fought during the Battle of Britain between the German Luftwaffe and British Royal Air Force (RAF). Now celebrated as Battle of Britain Day.
Tonight although a few days late we paid our respects and did a 2 minute silence on final parade. The ensign was at half mast.
We thank those who gave their lives so we could have a tomorrow. ❤️🫡

Over the past week we have have been busy getting ready for WAD, Wing Activity Day, We have also been tying up those loose ends for those that parade once a week due to other activities they are part of.
I was please to award the following:
Blue Space: Cdt Wilson
Blue DofE: Cdt Schutrups, Cdt Houghton A, Cdt Houghton L
First Class Classification: Cdt Exall D, Cdt Exall T , Cdt Randall, Cdt Houghton A
Master Air Cadet classification: Cpl Davies-Evans

All have worked extremely hard over the past few months, for some it was their first badge to their brassard, which is a fantastic achievement.
We look forward to seeing these badges on your brassard. Well done to you all

This evening was a mix bag, we had drones (new to the PTS-Progressive training Syllabus)prep for WAD, and Space both blue and bronze. After a few parade nights (over the span of a few months), the following cadets were able to complete the space syllabus.
Blue: Cdt Exall D, Cdt Exall T, Cdt Harris and Cdt Randall.
Bronze: Cpl Castle and Cdt Schutrups.

So, This is how our September begins. With new recruits and more badges to hand out. 3 cadets gained their Senior classification badges- Cpl Davies-Evans. Cpl Castle and Cdt Ramsden.
Cpl Davies gained his blue music badge in trumpets after grading at level 3 in the bugle and lastly Sgt Gilbert achieved Cadet of the month for August-his unwavering commitment to his sqn, wing, corps and ultimately his passions saw him gain COTM.
Congratulations to you all, its well deserved.

This weekend, through all the thunderstorms and rain Sgt Gilbert completed his GOLD Expedition, Congratulations Sgt, all thats left is to complete the final parts of your DOFE and you would have Completed your GOLD DofE and then get ready to head to Buckingham Palace.
We are extremely proud of you, you are such a committed cadet,who will give anything a go.And in your own words "has had the busiest summer ever" .
