Looks like AC Tammy had a fantastic time offshore enjoying the weather aboard TS John Jerwood. ⚓️🛥️

Tammy spent a week living onboard the ship learning and working alongside her fellow cadets developing knowledge such as rope work, helming, navigation, bouyage and teamwork! 🪢🚤🌊

⚓️✨ Goodbye and Goodluck! ✨⚓️

Tomorrow we officially see POC Nathan depart Penarth Sea Cadets after over 5 years in the unit! It’s a bittersweet goodbye as he leaves to join the Royal Navy and begin his phase 1 training. 🥲⚓️🥳

During his time in Sea Cadets POC Nathan has achieved some incredible things! Most notably, his promotion to Petty Officer Cadet, the highest rank any sea cadet can achieve. He also served as the Lord Lieutenant Cadet for South Glamorgan, representing the unit at various events and greeting numerous dignataries. 👏🫡

Some of his highlighted qualification include his windsurfing stage 2, advanced marine engineering, advanced peer educator, FAW, RYA safetyboat and offshore hand 1. 🛠️🚤

He has truly made the most of his time within the origination spending time on the TS Royalist, TS Jack Petchey, HMS Raleigh and various units across South West Area. 🛥️⛵️

We would also like to wish the best of luck to one of our former cadets Jaydn who also spent numerous years at Penarth Sea Cadets. He also leaves tomorrow for HMS Raleigh to begin his career in the Royal Navy. He also utilised his time and experience in sea cadets spending time at HMS Raleigh and TS Royalist to name a few. 🤩

Jaydn departed the unit a few years ago to pursue further development through employment which was greatly benefited by his various qualifications earnt during his time with us! 🙌

Good luck both, enjoy your time and take in as much as you can! We look forward to welcoming you back to our unit to share some of the incredible experiences you have during your time. Congratulations on this major milestone! 🍀⚓️👏

✨🥁Area Band Competition🥁✨

Today, POC Rebecca spent her day at HMS Flying Fox for the Area Band Competition as the South West Area First Sea Lord Cadet. ⚓️🥁🎉

POC Rebecca did an outstanding job representing the unit and district in her capacity as 1SLC. She also had the opportunity to meet and greet some senior area staff, seen below with the Area Officer. Aswell as networking with some of her fellow cadets from Birmingham right down to Cornwall! 🤩🫡🙌

BZ POC Rebecca and well done for being such a great ambassador of the Sea Cadet Corps Values! 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
