SheWolf

SheWolf The Wild Path to Wholeness. Therapy, Art, & Embodied Return. In SheWolf terms, to become SheWolf one to awakens to the over-domestication of the true self.

The ‘right’ way is silenced for one's ‘own’ way. The path is directed by a growing feral whisper that urges instinct in as the guide. A primal body (re)emerges to welcome the call of the SheWolf, a human animal that by its nature is...Free, Trusting, Playful, Devoted, Fearless, and forever WILD. The Company:
SheWolf is a disabled-led production company based in Penarth (Wales) that brings landscap

e alive through performance. We are committed to exploring the human, natural and ethereal connections between body, voice and landscape. At our core we are interested in the (re)connection between people and place. As such, our site-responsive work deeply inhabits and enlivens the hidden stories of landscape to re-awaken them in the imagination of the public. Through the senses we encourage embodied connections that allow people to see and experience places anew. Our style of performance making has deeply philosophical, political, ecological and spiritual roots. It emerges from a post-Grotowskian style of performance-making inspired by the principles of Eastern European ensemble theatre. That is, it takes the body and voice as the central instrument for creative expression and artistically composes this within and through the wider (metaphorical) body of the ensemble. This practice is a commitment of working together in a way where the community is as vital the individual; the flourishing of the whole prioritised over individualism. SheWolf situates this ethos is an ecological framework and uniquely develops the tradition to include landscape (the-more-than-human world) as an alive and active member of the ensemble. This is an environmentally-driven endeavour to be in (right) relation with the world we inhabit. We nurture this in practice by acknowledging and employing the maternal ethics of care-giving, care-taking and interdependence as vital to human and planetary wellbeing. A life practice embedded in performance, this philosophy defines and shapes the work of the company making the work unquestionably and recognisably....SheWolf. This philosophy of performance-making strongly underpins the ethos of the company and our commitment to engagement with local communities. We specialise in artist-led productions, as well as community and education projects, and work with an international team of collaborators (Poland, Spain, Colombia, UK and beyond) to bring high quality international practices to UK audiences.

INVISIBLE DISABILITIES WEEK (28 Oct – 3 Nov)

“Wrapping up Invisible Disabilities Week, I’m reflecting on the qualities it takes to live with an invisible condition in a world that often can’t see anything wrong. It takes resilience to face each day, patience with yourself (and when others don’t understand), and courage to keep going when the pain pushes back. It’s a quiet strength that doesn’t always get acknowledged but is there, steady and enduring”. - SheWolf

INVISIBLE DISABILITIES WEEK (28 Oct – 3 Nov)

“This past week of looking back, has reminded me of the layers beneath the surface, the guilt of canceling on loved ones, the impact on self-confidence when plans change, and the compromises that touch every corner of life - work, relationships, commitments. Chronic pain isn’t just what I feel…it’s what reshapes the path I take”. - SheWolf

INVISIBLE DISABILITIES WEEK (28 Oct – 3 Nov)

“Throughout Invisible Disabilities Week I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to live with chronic pain. Behind closed doors, there’s the quiet struggle, the days spent at home just in case, and the tentative ‘yes’ to plans I might not be able to keep. It’s a life where invisible battles shape each decision, big and small, throughout all of life’s ages and phases”. - SheWolf
