We’re so grateful to everyone who came along and helped make it such a memorable occasion.
A big thank you to the team at Admiral for their continued support and for taking the time to come along and be part of the night!

👋 We’re pleased to welcome Rhys from Hugh James to the Headway team!

Rhys will be volunteering with us as part of his training contract with Hugh James, giving him the opportunity to get to know our service users and learn more about the work we do.

We are very sorry to share sad news with you. Peter Mayle, volunteer, trustee, and Treasurer for many years has passed away.
Pete was so much more than all those things. In many ways he was the father of our organisation. Along with his wife, Wendy, he is responsible for our growth from a monthly support group to the charity we are today. We are his legacy. He gave us so much of his life so generously. The tragedy of his son, Jeff’s brain injury resulted in him doing so much to help others. Jeff, continues his work, as board member. His daughter, Angela, has only recently stepped down.
Our thoughts are with them, and in particular, Wendy, who inspired and shared his mission.

Couples affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) are being invited to take part in a new Swansea University research study looking at relationships after brain injury.

The study aims to better understand the experiences and challenges faced by couples, helping researchers develop more effective support and treatments.

👫 Both partners take part in an online session with experienced neuropsychologists and complete questionnaires.
🎁 Each partner will receive £25 in the form of a voucher or cheque for taking part.

The study is open to couples who meet specific eligibility criteria, including a person with a brain injury being aged 18–65.

The study is being led by Dr Roger Weddell, Consultant Neuropsychologist at Swansea University, who has been a long-standing supporter of Headway.

Staff Stay Day! 🎨🧘‍♀️

On Tuesday we enjoyed a brilliant Staff Stay Day, with plenty of opportunities to relax, have fun and bond as a team.

From yoga and painting portraits of each other to some fun team games, there was plenty of laughter and a few surprises along the way!

It was a brilliant day of getting outdoors, trying something new and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. There were plenty of smiles, laughs and a few splashing good moments along the way! 😄

A huge well done to Ellie, Dan and James, who took on the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of Headway Cardiff & South East Wales! 👏🎉

The atmosphere looked incredible, with huge crowds, amazing support and plenty of encouragement along the route. It was fantastic to see our runners soaking it all in as they took on this challenge.

We’re delighted to welcome Craig to the Headway team as our newest Support Worker! 👋

Craig will be working with us on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. He brings experience from the charity and community sector, most recently working with Pedal Power.

Outside of work, Craig has a passion for filmmaking and visual art, so we’re sure he’ll bring plenty of creativity with him too! 🎬🎨

We’re really pleased to have Craig on board and look forward to getting to know him.
