Our Porchlight Sleepout is in full swing!
After building shelters for the night, it’s time for Campfire before Cake & Hot Chocolate.

Over 150 members of our District are sleeping out under cardboard tonight for Porchlight to both raise money for the charity and to raise awareness of Homleasness.

It was a great pleasure to visit Gremlins Explorers this week to present Tom with his King’s Scout Award.

The KSA is the top award for Explorers and Network and includes completing DofE Gold, 24 additional nights away, 6 activities on International, Community and Values, and a formal presentation. Scouts have until their 25th birthday to finish but Tom completed before his 18th, an excellent achievement!

Congratulations Tom for all your hard work and I’m sure he’ll join me in adding thanks to family, fellow Explorers and leaders who supported.

5 units, 45 Explorers, 8 leaders all had a brilliant time at the Kent Explorers Big Weekend 2026 camp. Thanks to them all for getting stuck in with the fun, for our leaders for everything they did to setup and pack down camp, feed everyone, and help on activity bases, and to the County Explorers team for putting on the event.

So many brilliant experiences had including Archery, Army challenges, Assault Course, Body Zorbs, Cavebus, Circus Skills, Climbing, Disc Golf, Fencing Foils, Gel Blasters, Mountain Bikes, Nerf Wars, Nightline, Orienteering,, Paddlesports, Pedal Karts, Pistol Shooting, Power Riser, Quad Bikes, Raft Building, R***e Shooting, Tomahawks, Tuck Shop, Vintage Video Games, Water Rockets plus evening entertainment including movies and a neon silent disco party.

RTW Scouts in the International Parade from KISC to Kandersteg village for Swiss Day (Spot us 4th group back with the Union Flag, just after Norway). Aside from the Jamboree itself it’s arguably the biggest and best Scouting parade many of us will ever take part in!
