From 31st January 2025, Postcards For Peace officially ceased its work and will now be applying to close down its charity status. The Postcards For Peace shop will remain open for another year, and any profits generated during this period will be donated to Peace One Day, the organisation that served as the original inspiration for Postcards For Peace.
Postcards For Peace was established in 2013 with the aim of promoting peace and eliminating discrimination by fostering global unity through creativity. Throughout its existence, the organisation achieved numerous successes. Notably, the annual Postcard Design Competition, which ran for several years, with significant participation from schools across the globe, including New Zealand, the USA, Greece, Russia, and the UK.
Although the decision to wind down the charity’s operations is bittersweet, the commitment to promoting peace and ending discrimination remains unwavering. By redirecting the shop’s profits to Peace One Day, Postcards For Peace will continue to contribute to the cause that inspired its inception.
While there may have been challenges and setbacks along the way, the accomplishments of Postcards For Peace are truly remarkable. We were able to build a strong online community, recruit dedicated Ambassadors, gain support from influential celebrities, collaborate with impactful organisations, connect schoolchildren across borders, and release a charity compilation CD. These achievements demonstrate the impact we made in promoting peace and unity worldwide.
We would like to thank everyone who has played their part over the past twelve years in making Postcards For Peace what it was and in particular special gratitude goes to our trustees and ambassadors, the teachers who encouraged their students to engage in our work, and everyone who donated to our cause or purchased from our shop.
