Would you like to sing while strolling through Nidderdale's beautiful countryside?

This Saturday, Cathy the Curlew will be joining families on the Curlew Way pilgrimage, a special walk celebrating the iconic curlew and our local landscape. Members of the Curlew Choir will also be joining for a few songs along the way.

Whether you're coming for the singing, the wildlife or the fresh air, you'll be very welcome.

Moorlands across Nidderdale National Landscape are currently a spectacular sight to behold, carpets of purple cover huge areas of moorland as the heather blooms for the next few weeks.

Do you farm or manage land in Nidderdale?

There’s a practical on-farm event coming up at Summerstone Estate, Lofthouse, looking at how grazing systems can be adapted to cope with hotter, drier summers.

Out in the Drought: Protecting Production with Summer-Dry Grazing takes place on Tuesday 15 September, 10am-3pm and will include a workshop, farm walk and discussion led by grazing consultant John Bailey of PâtureSens.

A practical, on-farm workshop on managing grazing during increasing UK droughts

This Saturday, stage 4 of Lloyds Tour of Britain will be taking place through Nidderdale National Landscape.

The pelaton is expected in Pateley Bridge at 12:44 before climbing up Greenhow hill and continuing towards the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

It’s sure to be a fantastic event and well worth a day out to watch!

Don't forget that this Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday you can catch the Summer DalesBus services into and around Nidderdale National Landscape.

DalesBus services run every Sunday and Bank Holiday until 18th October, providing lots of day-out opportunities for walking and sight-seeing across the National Landscape and beyond.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust will be running their Tree Shelter Recycling hub again next month. Recycling tree guards is a great way to reduce plastic in the landscape, and as you can see the May hub recycled an extraordinary amount!

Today is set to be the hottest day of this current heatwave and the risk of fire across Nidderdale is exceptional. Don't put habitat, wildlife and people's lives at risk by lighting fires, disposable BBQs or ci******es when out in Nidderdale.
