Parkstone Women's Institute This branch of the Women's Institute is based in Parkstone. Who? We're a group of busy modern ladies who love creating things and learning new skills.

We meet 2nd Weds of each month at ST DUNSTANS, 94A BOURNEMOUTH ROAD, PARKSTONE, BH14 9HY (accessed via St Osmund's Road and Florence Road) We enjoy taking a few hours out of our schedules to drink tea, eat sugary treats and catch up whilst expanding our skill and craft CV's

Last month we had a wonderful evening repurposing old pillow cases into tote bags. It’s always good to look at how we can cut down on waste and this activity achieved it two fold- up cycling old bedding to plastic saving shopping bags.

At our October meeting yesterday we welcomed our members, and some new ladies, and crafted poppies from upcycled plastic bottles, with reed diffusers for stems. We also had a very fun all things autumn related quiz. Next month we shall be crafting again. Christmas (how come that's come around so quickly πŸ€”) wreaths and table decorations. If you've visited before, or have yet to join us for an evening, do come along, you'll be made very welcome.

What a fabulous evening we had on Wednesday, when we were joined by Ginnie and Amy from the NHS Dorset Trust resus team for some basic training and demonstrations on cpr and defibs. We are now registered with the Resuscitation Council UK as being

It was lovely to be joined by some guests, and new members too, to learn these invaluable skills and more info can be found on the British Heart Foundation website.

We also announced the winner of this summer's challenge for the tallest sunflower.πŸ†πŸŒ» 8ft 8"

Next month we shall be crafting poppies for Remembrance Day. If you'd like to come along, visitors are very welcome, just send us a message. We look forward to seeing you 😁
