Hello,
we are Alice, Keira, Isobel and Isabelle and we are four Explorer Scouts from Menabilly Unit (based in Tywardreath) who have been selected to represent Cornwall at the World Scout Jamboree in Poland next year!
The World Scout Jamboree is an incredible international event bringing together 40,000 Scouts from around the world to learn new skills, experience different cultures and build lifelong friendships.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but to attend, we need to get fundraising! The total fee is £3500 per person, so between us we need to raise £14,000.
UK Scouts are encouraged to fundraise as much of the fee as possible, as this levels the playing field and allows Scouts from all financial backgrounds to attend. In addition, those in more affluent countries pay more, to enable those from less well-off countries to attend. We think this is an amazing part of the experience - we all help each other take part.
