A copy of an email received by the Beaver team that's shows what children can get out of Scouting. Very well done Albie from all of us at Polkerris.

Dear Team,
I am Albie's Auntie and I wanted to get in touch with you to share some fantastic behaviour from Albie at the weekend.
Whilst out walking I had a nasty fall which required ambulance transport to hospital in Plymouth.
I was away from the main path when I fell and Albie came to see where I was, he then ran between myself and his mum, securing my dog, asking if I was ok, checking if I was bleeding and then walked with me slowly to the main path and back to the car where I then deteriorated.
Albie was calm, he provided comfort and reassurance and was reminding me to breathe!! He welcomed the ambulance crew told them what had happend and then thanked them and the NHS for their hard work! He actually said it was all part of the role of being in scouting!
For an eight year old he showed so much maturity. It must have been a scary experience for him but he astonished me with his calm and sensible approach.
I thought you would like to know what a superstar he has been.

County awards ceremony today down at Stithians, Izzy received her diamond award.

Unfortunately Oscar and Charlie couldn't make it to receive their platinum awards.
But congratulations to all 3 of them and anyone else picking up awards today.

This evening 3 of our Jamboree girls plus Geoff and Dicky went along to the Fowey River Lions certificate presentation evening.
The Lions have very generously donated to both the girls Jamboree fundraising and to Polkerris Scout Group. The scout group have commissioned MPower Kernow to fabricate them an Altar Fire for use when cooking outdoors.

As part of their fundraising our 4 Jamboree girls will be selling the Cornish contingent badge.

The badge was jointly designed by all 36 Cornish children going to the world Jamboree with Cornwall and Poland represented on the badge. The final layout was put together by an ex Polkerris Scout now just about to start his 3rd year at uni studying graphic design.

This is a limited edition badge and is available as a blanket badge through pre order via this page at a cost of a few pounds.
