Interesting in volunteering to set up a small gaming cafe?

After a couple of months attempting (and mostly failing) to master Rocket League, I finally managed to score a goal by boosting up into the air. A small win on the face of it, but one that felt surprisingly satisfying.

That small win is a good reminder of something bigger.

I’m now looking to get a gaming café concept off the ground — something community-focused and well run. To do that, I’m looking to connect with people who understand platforms such as GG, Leap, or Senet. If that’s you, or someone you know, I’d love to have a conversation.

Progress often starts with persistence… and the occasional airborne goal.

The Hot Desk Gaming Cafe taking a step closer due to an amazing donation of some second hand PC equipment from Allia.

Such immense support like this helps us start small and test new ventures at minimal outlay.

On that note, if anyone has any Nvidia 2060 (or better) graphic cards for sale then please let me know.

We're hoping to start trials with the gaming cafe next week.

🚀 Calling Small Business Owners & Aspiring Entrepreneurs – Volunteer Coachees Needed! 🚀

We’re excited to invite a couple of volunteers to take part in a coaching session that forms part of our planned development programme for small business owners and those looking to start their own ventures. These sessions will be observed by an independent party to support us in our development, and it’s designed to support you while honing our coaching programme.

What to expect:

Self‑awareness and Emotional Intelligence: We’ll work together to explore your business goals, challenges and opportunities through the lens of self‑awareness and emotional intelligence.

Powerful Questioning: We'll use open, thought‑provoking questions to help you reflect on your plans, identify assumptions that may be holding you back, and generate fresh ideas.

Professional Development: This session is part of a planned coaching programme aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small business owners build resilience, clarity and actionable strategies.

If you’re curious about how coaching can help you shape your business ideas or overcome hurdles, and you’d like to be part of this session, we’d love to hear from you. It feels like a long time ago when the brewery kit was first delivered. Since then, we've been on a journey of commissioning, learning a lot about b**r – and just how much damn cleaning is involved!

We're now (hopefully!) just a few days away from pouring our first two b**rs:

🍺 First Edition Best Bitter – Typically a drink for old farts… but like the '60s (or was it the '70s?), these things come around again. It’s absolutely delicious.

🍺 Pale Ale – A light summer b**r, easy-drinking and sure to become a staple of the brewery.

These are genuinely exciting times. Over the next 12 months, we’ll be experimenting with different b**rs and working closely with our Fermentors Community Group, using our BEAR methodology to shape a dynamic and progressive brewery right on your doorstep.
