The next JNI adventure is now starting for 6 of our adult volunteers as they undertake training and assessment towards gaining their powerboat permits, under the guidance of Renfrew Town Sea Scouts. This will open up a whole new opportunity for our members as we take to the water in the not too distant future.

Blair Atholl International Jamborette

This weekend at Lapwing Lodge marked the final training weekend for the eight members of the JNI contingent heading to the Blair Atholl International Jamborette this summer. We wish Olivia, Megan, Spencer, Luca, Charlie, Annie, Isla and Matthew every success as they prepare to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

Held every two years, the Jamborette brings together around 500 Scottish Explorer Scouts and Scouts from across the globe. Living and working in mixed international patrols, they'll take on exciting outdoor challenges, experience new cultures, develop lifelong skills, and create friendships that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you goes to the West Region Blair Atholl Leadership Team for their dedication in preparing the contingent, ensuring they have all the practical skills and confidence needed to live, cook and thrive under canvas. We can't wait to hear about their incredible experiences.

Family Night June 2026

What a fantastic way to finish the year!

We celebrated our traditional Family Night with the presentation of the Chief Scout’s Award across Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs, the highest award in Scouting. A huge congratulations to all our recipients.

With incredible support from our young people, families and volunteers, everyone got involved in the challenge of pitching and packing away an 8-person airtent, uncovering a few future volunteers along the way!

From bouncy castles and archery to great food and our now-traditional ice cream van, it was a brilliant evening and a fitting end to another successful year.

Thank you to everyone who supports JNI throughout the year. We wish you all a fantastic summer and look forward to welcoming our Sections back in September!

🦫 Beaver Scouts Take on Auchengillan! 🦫

Our Beaver Scouts had an action-packed weekend away at Auchengillan Activity Centre, making memories, trying new challenges and having loads of fun alongside the other Sections.

From exploring underground during caving, to testing their balance and teamwork on the low ropes course, the Beavers threw themselves into every activity with huge smiles and plenty of determination! They also enjoyed pond dipping, splashing about in the Water Walkerz and racing down the sledging slope with lots of excitement and laughter along the way. 💦

And even with all the adventurous activities on offer, one of the biggest highlights for many was simply rolling down the giant grassy hill, proving that sometimes the simplest fun creates the biggest smiles! 🌱😄

The weekend was a brilliant opportunity for the Beavers to build confidence, make new friends and enjoy the great outdoors together. The Saturday night campfire with the rest of the camp and other Scout Groups from across the District was the perfect way to end a fantastic day of adventure. 🔥

Well done to all our amazing Beavers for their enthusiasm, teamwork and adventurous spirit throughout the weekend!

🌟 What a fantastic weekend for JNI Squirrels at Auchengillan Activity Centre! 🌟

Our Squirrels joined the other 4 Sections for an unforgettable camp full of adventure, fun and new experiences. For many of our Squirrels, this was their very first time camping in tents, and they absolutely loved it! ⛺🐿️

The weekend was packed with exciting activities including Water Walkerz, caving, sledging, climbing and plenty of water games… because what 4 or 5-year-old doesn’t love getting soaked and having fun! 💦😄

One of the highlights of the weekend was the campfire on Saturday night, where all the Sections came together along with other Scout Groups from across the District for a brilliant evening of songs, laughter and friendship. 🔥🎶

A huge well done to all our amazing Squirrels for their enthusiasm and bravery throughout the weekend, and thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the camp such a success.

A huge thank you to our fantastic team of adult volunteers who have been hard at work organising tents, equipment and supplies ahead of this weekend's Group camp at Auchengillan.

Over 100 young people and volunteers from all five Sections will be taking part in a packed programme of adventurous activities and outdoor fun as we spend the weekend under canvas.

For many of our youngest members in Squirrels, this will be their very first night camping, an exciting milestone and one they'll remember for years to come!

Events like this don't happen without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, who give up their time behind the scenes to make these experiences possible.

We're looking forward to a brilliant weekend of adventure, challenge, friendship and unforgettable memories. ⛺🔥🌟

A huge well done to all of our Scouts, Explorers and adult volunteers who spent the day working in Glen Park helping to rebuild paths for the local community.

This fantastic effort is part of The Better World programme, giving our young people the opportunity to make a real difference in their community while also progressing towards their top awards in Scouting.

Thank you to everyone who gave up their time, energy and teamwork to support this project, your hard work will benefit park users for years to come!

As part of our plan to preserve the history of the JNI and recognise those members who achieved the highest award in Scouting, we are creating a permanent display wall dedicated to members of the JNI Scout Group who were awarded the King’s Scout Award or Queen’s Scout Award. If you know of any members that received the awards please also email to allow us to get in touch with them.

We’re delighted to announce Alasdair Donohue as our new Scout Section Lead.

Alasdair has been a dedicated member of Scouting for many years, starting as a Cub Leader before joining the JNI Scout Leadership Team. He’s been a fantastic support on Friday nights, at Zodiac camps, and across our weekend activities.

Alasdair is also part of the West Region Leadership Team heading to Peru in 2027, having previously taken part in the Nepal trip in 2023.

Thank you, Alasdair, for stepping into this role, we’re excited for what’s ahead!
