Come with us on a summer journey and discover the benefits of plants through a creative lens.

This hands-on course begins at Barshaw Park Community Garden, where you will explore natural dyeing, cyanotype printing, and embroidery. Using the fabrics you create and dye, you will make your own foraging bag to take with you on a guided foraging walk through the Braes.

Along the way, you will learn about local plants, their uses, and the connections between creativity, nature, and wellbeing. In the final session, you will gather your favourite foraging recipes, plant illustrations, and discoveries into a handmade mini zine to take home.

Whether you are interested in art, nature, or simply trying something new, this course offers a unique opportunity to connect with plants, creativity, and your local landscape.

ReMode Community Mending Session

Join us on the first Monday of every month for our ReMode Community Mending Session. A facilitator will be on hand to help answer your mending questions and support you with your repairs.

Each month we focus on a specific mending technique, but you’re welcome to bring along any item that needs repairing—it doesn’t have to relate to the month’s theme.

This Month’s Mending Theme: Taking Up or Letting Down Hems

Learn how to adjust the length of your clothes by taking up or letting down hems. We’ll cover alterations for trousers, dresses, tops, and sleeves, helping you achieve a better fit and extend the life of your garments.

You are also welcome to bring other items you’d like to repair. All sewing repairs are welcome, and our community session is a great opportunity to mend, learn new skills, and connect with others.

Please bring multiple items if you have them, so you can make the most of the session.

Some garden updates! The flax is coming along brilliantly, and we have managed to add our special Remode flair to the garden space. We are going to be hosting more creative sewing and painting sessions soon so stay tuned for updates, or even better, turn on post notifications for our account💚
