2nd Paisley Abbey is a large friendly group serving both boys and girls ages 6-18 years old. The aim of the group is to give kids 'everyday adventure'. Each section runs activities throughout the year. Examples of which are kayaking, abseiling, skiing, bushcraft, sailing, hiking, crafts and pioneering

🏕️✨ June 2026 Camp Wrap-Up ✨🏕️

After an action-packed weekend at Lapwing, our Cubs and Scouts returned home yesterday with plenty of muddy boots, tired legs and lots of fantastic memories!

Although the weather was determined to test us right until the end, it certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Throughout the weekend, our young people embraced every challenge and opportunity, taking part in climbing, Laser Quest, Jacob's Ladder, mini catapults, fire lighting, outdoor cooking and much more.

It was brilliant to see everyone supporting one another, trying new things, building confidence and demonstrating the teamwork and resilience that Scouting is all about. Whether they were tackling activities at height, perfecting their campfire skills or simply enjoying time with friends, every young person should be proud of what they achieved.

As we reflect on the weekend, we'd also like to extend a huge thank you to our volunteer leaders. With Volunteers' Week having just passed, it's a timely reminder of the incredible commitment our volunteers give throughout the year. From planning and preparation to delivering activities and ensuring everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, none of this would be possible without them.

Thank you to all of our Cubs, Scouts, leaders and supporters for making the weekend such a success. Until the next adventure! 🏕️⚜️

🏕️🔥 Cubs & Scouts Camp at Lapwing 🔥🏕️

Our Cubs and Scouts have been making the most of their time at Lapwing this weekend, learning essential outdoor skills including fire lighting and cooking sausages over an open fire using sticks they prepared themselves.

The weather may be a little damp, but it certainly isn't dampening our spirits! 🌧️😊 Everyone has shown great enthusiasm, teamwork and resilience, embracing the adventure and enjoying the outdoors together.

A huge well done to all our young people for getting involved, trying new skills and making fantastic memories. The smell of campfire-cooked sausages and the sound of laughter around camp prove that a bit of rain is no match for Scout spirit!

🌍 Better World Volunteering Day at Gleniffer Braes Country Park 🌍

Today, our Scouts took part in a fantastic community project at Gleniffer Braes Country Park as part of our Better World volunteering day.

Working together with determination and enthusiasm, the young people helped to create and improve a pathway that will benefit visitors for years to come. Through teamwork, hard work and a willingness to give back, they made a real and lasting contribution to a much-loved local green space.

The Better World programme encourages Scouts to take action within their communities and make a positive difference to the world around them. Today's project was a perfect example of that in action, with our Scouts developing practical skills, building confidence and experiencing the reward of helping others.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part. Their efforts have helped improve access to the park while demonstrating the values of Scouting through service, community spirit and environmental stewardship.

A huge thank you to all those who organised and supported the day.

Tonight at Squirrels we had a very special visitor — a lovely lamb! 🐑

The Squirrels loved meeting him, learning how to be gentle around animals and finding out a little about how lambs are cared for.

This links nicely with our Squirrel Scout badge work, including learning about nature, animals, kindness and caring for others.

A brilliant night full of smiles, curiosity and fun! 🌟

Our Cubs and Scouts had a fantastic evening kayaking at Pinkston Watersports earlier in the week.

It was great to see the teamwork as they took to the water growing in confidence whilst still having so much fun!!

What a fantastic evening we had celebrating together! 💛

Our Squirrels and Beavers joined forces for a fun-filled session of Easter bonnet making 🎩🐰 and an exciting Easter egg hunt 🍫🥚 – and the creativity (and chocolate finding skills!) were amazing!

It was lovely to see everyone working together, laughing, and getting into the Easter spirit. A big well done to all our young people for their brilliant bonnets and teamwork 👏

What a great day we had on the Isle of Cumbrae playing Millport Monopoly with the South West Region Scouts.

Our Scouts and leaders battled the wind, rain, hail and occasional sunshine to walk the island and play the game by taking part in activity bases and just having fun!
