Stepping Stones for Families Addressing poverty and inequality together -`♡´-
Join our community to support families and children as we walk towards positive change ⋆

Stepping Stones for Families is a national voluntary organisation, which has been connecting families and young people in Scotland since 1988. Our work today provides support, opportunity and a voice for families and young people living in disadvantaged communities. Partnership is essential to our activities. We work with local councils and other voluntary organisations to provide a range of high quality childcare, children’s services and family support across Glasgow, South Ayrshire and East Ayrshire. Our services are consistently graded as ‘Very Good’ and ‘Excellent’ by the Care Commission (the highest grades available). We always make the grades we receive known as we are always proud of them and a copy of the Care Commission’s full report can be found at their website.

We've introduced reading sessions to our schedule!

By introducing literature from an early age, children develop the capability to understand when they feel safe and secure. They engage with conversations, either in a collective way or with their own selves, understanding their identities from an explorative and curious perspective.

October is ADHD Awareness Month.
ADHD can cause ongoing challenges in daily life, and that's why it is so important to be able to openly talk about it.
Bringing up ADHD in our daily conversations can help many people get support and find a community where they can be open about what they are feeling.
At Stepping Stones for Families, we aim to help families in Scotland thrive. We offer group meetings and 1-2-1 sessions, and by being part of these conversations, we can work together towards positive change.

Come along and get over your fears ! We can all get better at MATHS and NUMBERS, we just need to chat about it and help each other
(And the best part is...the sessions are FREE!)

Where? Barr Primary School and Barrhill Primary School
When? From January 2027 to March 2027.

We will be covering topics such as savvy saving, bank accounts, shopping and meal planning, debt and how to make the most out of your money.

If you wish to talk after the sessions or have any money concerns, we can help. Our colleagues who offer confidential money advice and support are available to help either in our office or as outreach appointments. They can do a benefits check, apply for benefits and grants/funds for you.

This is a day to engage with the mental health discussion. By active listening and talking, we can help in the building of a more understanding society, aiming for more equal opportunities and positive experiences.
Take this day to reflect, think and research on the current state of mental health issues around the world.
At Stepping Stones, we aim to create safe spaces for families to engage in conversations that are useful for their wellbeing. From community meetings to groups sessions, we are always trying new things to adapt our services to our community's needs.
