VOLUNTEERS WEEK - DAY 3 ✨🥰🎉

Today we’re recognising the incredible work of our Renfrewshire Bereavement Network (RBN) volunteers ❤️ These compassionate individuals create a safe, welcoming space where people experiencing loss can talk openly and receive the support they need. Based on Causeyside Street in Paisley, the RBN is open to anyone who needs someone to listen - and it’s our volunteers who truly make the hub what it is.

We asked Joan what volunteering with ACCORD means to her...

"I first became involved with ACCORD after my husband died. I first helped at reception. It gave me something to get up for and a meaning in purpose, as my life had changed so much. I had worked in health care and have always seen the importance of what it does. ACCORD has also brought many great friendships to my life with the rest of the volunteers and staff. I now also volunteer at the Renfrewshire Bereavement Network where I answer the phone and do some telephone support by checking in with the bereaved families. On a Friday I do the afternoon tea trolly in the Inpatient Unit which I enjoy. Both ACCORD and RBN is a good place to volunteer."

Thank you to all our RBN volunteers we are so grateful for all the vital work you do for bereaved families in our community 🧡
